Why hasn’t Sony been able to create anything approaching the quality of a Zelda?

Well Horizon (if you really want to compare it to Zelda) is already a better Zelda game than the latest "Zelda" entry, for me. BOTW is not only (one of) the worst Zelda ever, but also a really boring game.

Ghost of Tsushima is a big deal in Japan. It's a Sony game and there's lots of respect for it. Japanese developers are proud of it. Here's a recent article about it.

Remember drawing my own maps for the original and played it through multiple times.

Zelda is almost 40yo IP, it has a massive Hardcore fanbase.

Still the whole series nowadays is as exiting as skimmed milk.

If you enjoy Zelda doesn't mean you can't enjoy Horizon or even Dark Cloud.
