For the first time in years, we have an Xbox shipment number.

For the Q4 2022 calendar period, Xbox shipped 3.2M consoles compared to PS5's 7.1M

This is from the FTC v Microsoft evidence.

Not even half.... So if ps5 are around 40 million, Xbox should still be around 20, certainly no more than 25 at the very max.

So it was already 2:1 before PS5 sales drastically improved in 2023?

Getting less than half the sales of the PS5 while the Series S is available for less than $229 on Amazon as I type this (against $399 for PS5 DE).

This backs up estimates @Heisenberg007 and I (and a few others) did late last year/early this year for EOY '22 Xbox Series sales numbers.

This proves it was statistically impossible for MS to have sold-through 20 million Xbox Series by EOY '22 since they at max could have only shipped 19 million (assuming XBO LTD is around 50 million). If Sony shipped around 147 million PS4 & PS5 systems by EOY '22, the 107 million MAU figure represents 73% of total shipped units.

Applying that to Xbox would mean the shipped total between XBO & Series is around 69 million as of EOY '22. That leaves 19 million for Xbox Series for shipped, even less than that sold-through. This also solidifies, IMO, that Ampere's 20.5 million Xbox Series numbers for EOY '22 were shipped, not sold-through.

Sold-through by EOY '22 was probably between 17 million - 18 million at best...so our estimates back then were correct.

19-20M at max. best case scenario.

If we're talking about right now? Xbox Series could be around 21 million sold-through, though that is being extremely optimistic.

Somewhere between 20.5 - 21 million sold-through is more realistic.

They've been tracking at OG Xbox levels for pretty much the whole year so far. OG Xbox did 6.2 million units in its third year on the market.

@Welfare remember that?

I told you US was higher than your 53% lol
Heck you even tried to "convince" people that Xbox US:WW ratio was 50%, 48%.... crazy.
You don't listen.

I even make a math with the best scenario for Series (55%).
Sorry I was wrong... it was 56%.

With LTD sales in US up to November it time to estimate WW sales for Series:

55% US: 15.9m
58% US: 15.1m
60% US: 14.6m

US and Global sales ratio was never close to 50%... so we can estimate that Xbox is being very optimistic at max 16 million sold WW as Nov 2022.

Glad we know who was right again 😘

I hope numbers keep on dwindling down to first around a million, and then mere few thousands LOL

Keystone also shows Xbox shipped ~10M in 2022, so Xbox only shipping 3.2M in Q4 is bizarre.

Ampere is the one that stated Xbox was at 18.5M and guess what, their 2021 estimates were accurate when court documents showed Microsoft said they had 16% of the market in 2021.

No reason to doubt Ampere again since this doesn't contradict them.

The same keystone that shows PS and Switch shipments wrong? And from what I see it is based in CY and FY.
I mean maybe if you stop to look at numbers that are wrong you can have some luck next time.
