My grandma could approve this and i'd put the odds higher of the deal going through than this.
Yep, the only relevant regulators are FTC, EC and CMA.
FTC and CMA have blocked the deal.
CMA is not changing their decision.
The problem with the FTC is that it's an US regulator and that is the same as not having a regulator because companies run the country.

The other thing with china is there really wouldn't be any competition concerns.

Console and cloud gaming market is different in the USA and UK then china.

No doubt you'll see the shills trying to use this approval as a way of saying it could pressure the FTC and CMA. I'm sure even Microsoft know how useless this approval is for appeals.

I don't understand the need from people to have these execs be their "friend". As long as the games I want to play keep coming in and the platform moves in a good direction, I don't really care about the exec.

It's because, and this is the honest truth, a lot of the people who desperately want guys like Phil Spencer to be their friend, have no actual IRL friends or meaningful relationships of their own. So they use public figures like Phil to get a taste of what they otherwise lack. Para-social relationships, that's what they seek in public figures like Phil Spencer, that way they can feel better about themselves .

Someone who has themselves mostly in good order, has meaningful friendships and relationships in their real lives, doesn't need to cling to public figures in a para-social dynamic, especially gaming CEOs. They don't need affirmation of their own life choices or beliefs by having other people share every single belief they have in order to be considered a "good" person, or especially be successful in running a gaming unit.

The funniest thing about Microsoft potentially pulling out of UK (which deffo won't happen) is Microsoft having to give up Playground Games since they are a British studio who make Forza xD
Playground, Rare, is compulsion in the UK too? Theyd be shutting down like 3 or 4 projects which to be fair half of them probably wont come out anyways.
