what? even killzone era guerilla games had more personality than the generic trailers they showed. not sure what you're talking about.
I agree but there is always a certain generic quality to Guerrilla Games. They have the rare exception like Zero Dawn and KZ2 when they actually try something new, but for the most part they get easily comfortable

They've always been a B tier studio amongst the Sony big hitters IMO.

How Hermen climbed so high I don't get

They have all the studios and IP but completely shat the bed.

0/10.

MS can just cancel the Xbox portion of their show and only show Starfield and it's gonna be better than this.

Severely disappointed in the show as an owner of a PlayStation system.

In terms of 2023 we have to remember we have Final Fantasy 16 in June, Spiderman in the Fall, and Helldivers at the end of the year.

It's pretty stacked in terms of exclusives.

Not to mention Final Fantasy 7 Part II will be out early next year too.

By far the worst showcase ever, extra disapointing since we waited so long for it and the only single player games announced are Spider-man 2 and Death Stranding 2.

I think they announced 4 GAAS PC/PS5 games, I'm starting to feel we are now leaving Sony golden age of single player games. All it's going to take is one of those GaaS to hit for Sony to turn into another Rockstar/Epic and start living off a single game.

It's still very disappointing, looks like Sony doing the bare minimum, they know they'll sell 120m+ consoles for the second gen in a row they should not be holding back in investing on PS5.

"Shat the bed" lol, no they just didn't bring everything they have because Xbox's efforts over the last 18 months have been so pathetic. They're not even trying their hardest, Xbox is getting crushed in terms of sales.

Naughty Dog has been a shell of themselves ever since the exodus in early 2014 when Amy Hennig and majority of the Uncharted 3 left. They lost all their multiplayer team as well with that exodus.
Thats why they did the last of us 2 or uncharted 4,both of the most well awareded games on existence, a "shell" sure jan

Which makes this showcase even more weird. I was always on the team of them not needing a showcase till this fall right after Spiderman man came out.

This should have been a state of Play announced two days before

where is Naughty Dog,
Working on TLOU Online plus at least one big unannounced game. They released their last big project less than 3 years ago. Since then released TLOUP1, Legacy of Thieves Collection, their PC ports and movie+tv show adaptations.

Naughty Dog has been a shell of themselves ever since the exodus in early 2014 when Amy Hennig and majority of the Uncharted 3 left. They lost all their multiplayer team as well with that exodus.
They have been more successful than ever since Amy left.

Amy's post ND games (Battlefield Hardline, Forspoken) weren't very successful.

Are you sure that the Uncharted 3 team and their MP team left? I'd bet most of them continue there, and the ones who left did it as part of the typical rotation in any company. Whoever left will have been replaced, now the studio is bigger than ever.

Cory Balrog,
He was creative director of God of War Ragnarok, but was going to pitch Sony a new IP back in summer 2018, which I assume got greenlighted should be shown soonish.
Persona 6,

Miyazaki,
He has announced an Elden Ring DLC and Armored Core VI as I remember

SuckerPunch?
Pretty likely working in GoT2, which may be in too early to be shown. GoT was released less than 3 years ago, and after that they released first the meaty GoT Legends MP mode in late 2020, and later in 2021 they released the Director's Cut/PS5 version/Ikki expansion.

I think they'll announce it next year.

House Marque,
Returnal was released 2 years ago, its PC port a few months ago. After Returnal, they started to work on a AAA new IP, bigger and more ambitious than Returnal. Don't expect to see their next game until at least a couple years more.

Bluepoint?
All their devs are credited to have worked in GoWR, which was released around half a year ago. Looking at their LinkedIn, at least many people moved to GoWR just after or soon after doing their job in Demon's Souls.

Their boss said that after remasters and later remakes, after Demon's Souls their next step was going to be to work in original content and that was supporting to make GoWR.

After GoWR they started to build a proper game design team, they didn't have enough before to lead their own original AAA games (only had 2 game designers). Unless they hire a big chunk of different types of designers, their next game will be also be working on another new AAA title but in a support role. Starting to hire a complete design team (they take their time with hirings because often hire top, very experienced people) leads to think that in the future -who knows if in time for their current project, I wouldn't bet on it- they will lead their own AAA games.

After Days Gone did help ND in TLOU Online and an Uncharted spinoff until they got greenlighted the new IP they pitched (according to Jason Schreier) in March 2021. They need like a couple years more to show the new IP unless it's with a CG teaser.

Castlevania?
Ask Konami

Sony can't do the bare minimum, they can't even pay some port house to port Bloodborne, Resistance, Killzone. Sony is reminding me a lot of Konami (see how they couldn't even bother porting MGS4).

Complete disregard for their audience, they are taking their success for granted. If PC didn't have so many optimization problems I would settle to being a master waiter.

Also, if Sony is ok releasing all their games on PC why are they paying SE to delay the PC release of FFXVI? Seems like a double standard.

And how.many developers did they lose after Uncharted 4?

It was well documented they were short on staff for TLOU and had to outsource so much to make up for it. They lost the entire multiplayer team mid way through Lost Legacy development and they couldn't even complete the Uncharted 4 multiplayer road map... But sure... Everything is fine and dandy there.

Its kinda pathetic that you surface to shit on a mid-effort Sony showcase...especially after the mediocre year Xbox has had.

Looking forward to seeing if Starfield looks any better than it did last year where it frankly didn't look too hot....
Even with a shit showcase FFXVI, Spider-man 2, FFVII Rebirth and Death Stranding 2 already wipe the floor if anything Xbox is going to have for the next few years.

The sad part is that Sony is going to get away with this bullshit.
