As much as I’d love to find a way to say that something as terrible as FF15 hurt the franchise…
FF16 has a lot to thank Ragnarok and Ps5 momentum for. For that reason alone I think it’s still difficult to predict sales. PS5 momentum might be something else.

It launched only on PS4 and XB1 but XB1 sales didn't have Japan and probably didn't even reach 500k at launch worldwide.

3 million is great IMO, especially after all the worry and rumors. We need more Final Fantasy games, I hope Japan supported strongly, interested to see.

Lol, even the PS OT on era is complaining about how badly the other threads on that hellhole want this game to fail.
With it selling well it's kills the narrative Square was panicking about pre -orders which was dumb to begin with as it's pointless to pre-order these days unless it's a physical / special edition.
So happy about the sales. Currently have the standard edition cause I didn’t want to wait a few extra days for the deluxe.

The 5 millions for FFXV were shipped but the legs were terrible and physical copies had massive discounts quickly. Totally overshipped and that game was hyped for 10 years.
In context, FF16 is doing great and the actual copies sold might be close.
Its gonna be even worse when/if the activision deal goes through.
IMO it's only a matter of time before era fizzles out. A website like that can't survive if the only ones left on there are rabid Xbox fanboys.
