Yeh no shit man. Anyone who believed 400 million is absolutely stupid

- this game stared major work 3-4 years ago
- this game launched with very little modes and characters
- this game had literally 0 advertising
- Sony launched this game at £40 not £70. So they wouldn’t be able to even break even if it sold a lot

The way everyone believes fake news these days is so scary
Many of the ones believing it here are either trolling or lack any ounce of common sense. No one has done the basic math to reasonably explain how 400m could be spent. Some "believe" the studio started 2 years before the studio was actually incorporated.

Absolutely based. The budget will keep increasing till Sony tells us the truth. Come on Hermen don't be shy let us know.

For these gaas games you can never predict what hits. One day there is nothing, next day some 1 dude game on steam comes out and every kid plays it
Agree but PS & PS studios are building this expensive singleplayer story side for multiplayer games where people who play multiplayer game don’t care about the story, especially not day 1. Usually the story for these multiplayer games are told through each season w a trailer usually cgi but sometimes animated.

Firewalk tried to make people care about the universe through trailers but no one cared about the the universe or the characters so the story trailer does nothing but create bloat & increase the dev cost significantly high. Same would’ve happen for the tlou online. PS should release these multiplayer games then if they become success expand them w trailer & animation.

Weekly cinematics for a PvP game is up there for dumbest ideas ever…

It shows that they actually thought these cringe character designs would do more than just resonate but carry the game.

It’s a PvP game. No one cares about story.

Firewalk is a DEI grifter studio. Overcharged with nothing to show and stole gameplay and game concepts from better devs. Shut em down

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart had $81m budget by a smaller team at Insomniac developed for three years.
I doubt the budget for Concord is bigger than 150

If this is false reporting then sony can easily clarified the missinformation and made a statement

But instead they went radio silence which only means one thing

Why is Herman still there? His actions and likely recommendations to Jim Ryan as the content expert appear to be getting worse and worse. He also has ungodly open bias to guerrila and horizon
Hermen Hulst has bias against Guerilla? LOLOLOL.
That's where he started... But ok bro. Ok...

That is a take lacking any common sense. Sony, like most professional businesses don't answer to every fucking randomers claims. You don't get rewarded for making up lies and demanding the affected party to correct it, thus revealing their private information. That's not how the world works.

I'm sure Sony would rather claim the losses of 400m in their tax returns than what was actually spent. Imagine Sony saying to the taxman "Colin Moriarty claimed 400m and we didn't respond so we claimed it was a 400m loss". What do you think the taxman would accept?

Anyone who says Concord is 400million is looking for attention or just talking shit

Sony doesnt respond to many many things. Like MS accusing Sony of having Wu Kong exclusivity and much much more thoughout the years. How many times does Sony or anyone respond to rumours.. Means nothing

Sony should respond to this:

Basically people spreading shit saying it was 4000 staff members

People could look at the staff numbers and what developers say and use common sense

We definitely need to see receipts.

I’m sure it was expensive. To both buy the studio and game from probably monsters.

The facial animation was way beyond what anyone else would put into a PvP game.

The budget for weekly cinematics, animation and voice work… may be included into this bloated number in some way.

But it’s still hard to see a PvP game being that expensive unless somehow this is an example of the extreme growing costs of working with western game devs.

(Looks at wukong)

money is going to be moving elsewhere… Sony still made the right play with these new partnerships with Asian game devs…. The DEI game devs of the west are clearly a fail — this year showed us that more than any.

News already spread on every major gaming websites about sony loses 400 million from concord on ign, gamespot, resetera, neogaf, youtube etc its not random or obscure news anymore and company had to respond

If they dont respond it will leave a huge question mark among people

Bros we are arguing semantics here a 100 million +- doesnt detract from this being a historic failure and a symptom of malaise at top SIE leadership. This game was championed so we can only imagine what fairgames and other GaaS are
