No, in my opinion there is very little risk that it will sell as poorly as the Wii U did in its time.
Nintendo has discontinued “classic” home consoles. Now they only make hybrid consoles even if in reality they are still laptops that can connect to the TV and not the other way around. And in the portable market they have 0 competition and it's not Valve with its Steam Deck and the others who are going to hold their own.
Plus historically Nintendo with portable consoles they know how to sell them, so logically the Switch 2 will have great success, maybe not as strong as the Switch but it will sell well.
