Relevance?

The few Xbox fans are buying more the expensive machine than the cheaper one.
How the lower price is helping then if they are selling less and less?

Do you not know what the word helping means? It does not imply in any way that it is doing the majority of the work.

I really don't understand the word helping...
Because when something is helping a product sell it make it sell more... not less.

Xbox Series is selling less and less... how Series S is helping at all? It is not even the first option to buy for these that are buying Xbox.

Like I said... it probably helped in COVID-19 period but at what cost? Because it sold a lot of units that made consumers unsatisfied with the hardware and made the world of mouth bad killing the Xbox at all.

Not a ps5 list. Its a PlayStation list.

Tell Circana to fix their lists then, I guess.

I'm just amazed that PS5 is apparently dying... despite being up 8% in their strongest market, with no price drop. They keep reporting very impressive data but the "fans" want to believe differently.
Yes. In fact, beyond not having a price cut it had a price increase instead. Plus that period of shortages. Plus people's economy is fucked up with huge inflation and so on.

And even with all this, PS5 is ahead of PS4 in the largest country of the console market. Sony is doomed, sure xDD

Look at @Evilms table...

PS5 May 2023: 270k
PS5 May 2024: 235k

That is 12% difference in units.
I said 8% because I thought that PS5 did 250k in May 2023 but it did 270k.

Anyway there is no way PS5 is down 30%.
Others that are down way more than 30% that drive down the overall %.

Matt is combining the overall market and putting PS5 in there. On purpose. You know how he shills for “everybody is doing bad” narrative” that started after MS said the industry is changing and not growing as an excuse for why their hardware is not selling.

This is PS5’s 3 year. It will naturally have a decline. Not that big though. There’s still no price stop ether.

If we see the overlap between the console and PC markets we see that most PC players don't play on console and that most console players don't play on PC.

Meaning, most PC players don't play on console because of other reasons, not because a few ports. In the same way that most people play on consoles for other reasons and won't stop doing it because a few games get ported.

Regarding 3rd party support, it is one of the main reasons of why Sony kicked out Nintendo out of the home console market. And will be one of the main reasons of why in the long term PC handhelds will cause Switch 2 not being as successful as Switch 1 (despite having a record launch), and a generation or two later will kick Nintendo out of the portables market too.

Meanwhile, Sony will continue growing their console, PC and mobile gaming businesses.

This is the top grossing country for the console gaming market. A big contrast to people claiming that PS5 is doomed, that Sony doesn't market their stuff, that Sony has no games and that PS Portal was a failure.

Some are in denial as usual.

But factually, the PS5 is ahead of the PS4 by 8% despite costing more.
The Xbox Series is behind the XB1 by 13% and the X360 by 6%, and that's a failure.

Actually leaked data with May 2024 being estimated ;)
BTW the May 2024 estimated is based on PS4 May 2017 LTD plus 8% minus PS5 April 2024 LTD (calculated with % over PS4 April 2017 LTD).

That person must be new.

Sony as publisher has totally exploded this gen. I have to hand it to them, if they can focus on creating new IP's and also Nurturing some IP's into becoming legacy ever greens *cough* bring back Uncharted* they will absolutely be a powerhouse in the next 5 years rivaling Nintendo.

I truly think rebirth being a "flop" is just misinformation. How can a top 5 game of the year only on one platform be a flop? seems to have done great. IMo, same goes for FFXVI
The game underperformed immensely and we need to stop trying to go against reality..it's a $70 game that sold a lot first month... Hence it's holding its place along with the fact there hasn't been many huge new releases to unseat the top 10

Once square release a part 3 with significantly less budget, then I’ll believe it

I don’t want to get into this debate about the exact time frame PS5 has been on the market. So I’ll just behave and say yes.

Trust me, you can ask Piscatella about which year was the PS5s 3rd year. You'll get the same answer as i've said to you

May 2024 is 3 years and 6 months.

But I understand people taking 2020 two months as one year 😉

Both can be correct. Just depends on the timeframe you are talking about.

PS5 sales indeed peaked in it 2nd year until begin of 3rd year. We are in the 3rd year of PS5 in the market… it will reach 4th years in November 2024.

Makes the math… PS5 has 42 months in the market… 4 years = 48 months. We will be commemorating the 4th of PS5 in November 2024.
