What do u want the new Spiderman to be? A first person turn based strategy game?
How many halo, gears titles until you take issue?
Spider-Man adds new gameplay so far in every iteration. From spicy 1 to miles they added brand new animations/combat/abilities because it’s a diff character.
Now they are adding new move set/abilities with black suit. On top of different ways to get more air momentum to traverse larger areas because even more is loaded at a time. Similar to that leaked tech demonstration pre PS5 Launch showing them fast forwarding through spider 2018 build.
Wolverine will not play like Spider-Man. They iterate so far and add new things to keep it fresh.
If you don’t like it don’t play it. But obviously majority of customers/fans do t see your POV
Seems that this year they started to properly capitalize the EVO taking full advantage of its possibilities:
- Did use the streams to place ads of Spider-Man 2, PlayStation Tournaments, Gran Turismo movie, Sony InZone accesories, some Crunchyroll anime, some fighting games coming to PS, etc.
- They sold PS merchandising in the stores and gave away PS freebies like tshirts
- Played constantly the great EVO music theme made by Sony Music in the intermissions, made an intro song for the finals of each game and released all tracks together in a EVO 2023 music album to be released tomorrow via Sony Music
- Made announcements for several fighting games coming to or already existing in PS (plus more to be announced at the finals of the main games)
- All the gaming setups had PS5/PS4 and Sony InZone display and headsets
- Did use the Sony money to profesionalize the organization, which for the first time it has not been a chaotical mess with many issues and long cues even to compete. At least according to a few people I asked, this time the competitors had no cues or issues and the organization was very good, like in a good European tournament

How many Zelda, Pokemon, Super Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, Mario RPG, Paper Mario, Mario Party, Mario Strikers, Smash Bros, Wario Ware, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Kirby, Metroid, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Splatoon have to release before you took issue?
This Niche-Man 2 trailer has 12M in the PS channel + 12M in the Marvel channel, so it's 24M. And the Marathon one 19M.
Meaning both games have more views than any other game trailer of the summer, and probably of the year.
In fact, they already have more views than any other video or stream ever posted in the Xbox and Nintendo channels with the exception of a Minecraft trailer in the case of Xbox and less than a dozen trailers in the case of Nintendo.
But hey, according to some people in this forum their management is incompetent, their marketing and communication sucks, they have no games, their CEO and head of internal studios should be fired and MS is supposed to have a monopoly because of potatoes.

No issue with Nintendo milking their franchises.
We are on Mario Party 12, Mario Kart 8 and Pokemon 35.
It’s only Sony some people have an issue with.
Forget Spiderman, they even had an issue with Horizon 2 being the same as the first.
Its the same with some reviewers who even knocked marks off the reviews.
Same reviewers had no issue with TOTK and Elden Ring.
Go figure.
Yes. They also had an issue with having a The Last of Us sequel when announced/was rumored or speculated, or with making more Uncharted games. They simply hate to see Sony having super successful IPs so want them to die as soon as possible.
Not going to let you casually suggest the Spider-Man games are on the same level as Nintendo IP.
Nintendo sell multiple version of the same game for full price (Pokemon, Fire Emblem), imagine Sony trying to do that.
There is little doubt Sony is held to a completely different standard. But Nintendo was smart enough to position themselves that way, like the Apple of video games.
Has less to do with Sony and more to do with Spider-Man being a much more easily fatigued concept. I barely need 3 of these games, just barely. I’m having a blast playing Miles Morales for the first time currently but do I need 3 of these? You have to justify that with new animations and some sort of twist to the gameplay don’t you think? I’m personally sick of most Nintendo games cause it’s the same shit on a different day.
Doesn’t mean they should stop making those games cause millions still want to play them.

Just saw in the stream that EVO broke the record of participants in a eSports event with over 20000 participants.
The Las Vegas major gave the EVO organization the keys of the city, and the Governor of Nevada declared August 6th the EVO day of Nevada.

Playstation is doing better than ever. They are breaking records for hardware sales, breaking records for software sales, their major games are all getting stellar reviews, their TV shows and movies are all successful. I’m wondering how a thread like this can even exist.
Sure, people may not like the direction Jim Ryan is going with the push towards GAAS style games but you can’t say with a straight face that the man is incompetent. Under his leadership Playstation is objectively doing better than ever before. He and the rest of the Playstation leadership are extremely competent.
The position Playstation is in right now is due to a lot of hard work from both Jim Ryan and the rest of the Playstation leadership team. Anyone who is thinking that it’s luck or something they just inherited from past leadership is delusional. Jim Ryan has been at Playstation since the beginning. He’s a big part of the reason the Playstation brand grew to its juggernaut status in Europe and he’s a big reason it’s now a worldwide brand synonymous with gaming.
People need to stop thinking that their feelings towards the direction a company is taking has any merit in the real world. It’s perfectly fine not to like the direction a company is taking but at the end of the day you have to sit back and look at the numbers, and the numbers show that Playstation leadership are extremely good at their jobs.
