That's what they will do, Totoki said so. Not necessarily found new studios but engage in partnerships. Japan, Korea and China will become very important markets for PlayStation. Lots of talent and cheaper in production.
And there will be something that many people won't like: AI. Yes, expect huge use of artificial intelligence in the production of games. Remember that one of the reasons Sony acquired Haven Studios was its efficiency in the production of games? It has something to do with that

What salt?

A console exclusive sells 3 million at launch is considered a flop yet a multi-platform game selling 3 million is good numbers?

Somehow calling out the hypocrisy equals salt these days.
Are you serious when you compare a popular franchise like Final fantasy with a niche franchise like dragon's dogma ?

Great news, this means Dragon's Dogma 2 is by far the fastest selling game in the series and for Capcom standards this is an awesome sales start outside recent RE and MH titles.

As reference DD Dark Arisen sold 3.9M (PS3+360) + 2.4M (PS4+XBO) + 1.1M (Switch). And the original Dragon's Dogma gamae solde 1.3M.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is on track to be by far the best selling game in the series, great news for the IP.

Yet Final Fantasy 16 and Rebirth are considered flops with similar numbers.
Not meeting certain unrealistic, too optimistic expectations doesn't mean they are flops.

And well, they are different projects: these FF games are exclusive and from a super popular IP. Dragon's Dogma 2 is multiplatform and from relatively niche IP.

Most of these kids weren't even born or too young to know about FF, when FF 1-13 were a thing. So why should it matter to these young gamers?

So every game that sells at a slower pace will be scrutinized on this site? I don't see why Dragons Dogma 2 is the being lashed because y'all mad people are unfair to Final Fantasy lol.

Also blame square for lighting the gasoline

A franchise used to sells 5 millions at launch drops to less than 3 million at launch.
A franchise used to sells 500k at launch sold 3 million at launch.

Is it not really hard to understand, no? Exclusivity has nothing to do with it.... in fact the franchise selling 5 million at launch was in most interactiong excluisve while the one selling 500k was multiplatform.

Hypocrisy is try to make salty bold claims without understand the selling power of the frnachises.
One is in the decline and the other in rise 🤷‍♂️

But you are here trying to made up the narrative that the rise in sales is bad and the drop in sales is good

I am 40. I wasn’t born yesterday.

Final Fantasy wasn’t a popular title by anyones imagination until Playstation arrived. Even then it didn’t sell exceptionally.

Whats the best selling Final Fantasy?

7? 15?

OG FF7 has sold 14 million after being 25 years on the market.

The 2 remakes have sold 10 million so far which is on par.

FF15 10 million+.

I have no word to say what these guys thinking in their mind 🤷‍♂️

Imagine comparing a niche franchise that barely break 1 million last gen with a very popular franchise that sold over 10 million last gen in a single entry.

Other than FF15, no Final Fantasy sold 5 million at launch.

FF15 isn’t the norm but an exception.

Final Fantasy is selling exactly how it always sold.

Mostly FFs sold around 5 million at launch... c'mon.
Just because you forget the launch were separably doesn't mean it didn't.

This shows that DD1 gained a cult following over a decade and sold a lot of copies (11.7 million is a ton). DD2 should have sold a lot of copies given that it has a big following and is a multiplatform game. Not sure why that's hard to understand.

Calling Dragons Dogma niche after selling 11.7 million is laughable.

How many Final Fantasy games have sold that number?

Only FF7 and FF15 come to mind.

Just sum the launch sales of previous games you will realize it is closer to 5 million...

For example FFXII.

Japan: 1.8m
US: 1.5m
RotW: ?

You said most FF games sold 5 million at launch.

What about the other 14 games?
