My god, it was amazing. I can't belive I never played a Final Fantasy game before. I think i'm buying this till I wait for Spiderman.

I’ve been waiting for FF to reinvent its combat since FF X. I feel the wait is finally over!!
That definitely wasn’t enough to sample combat accordingly. It does feel nice tho. Can say that much at least.
The tone shift is appreciated. For the first time in a long time it feels like this game isn’t treating the player like they’re a weeb. I loved persona 5 and tales of arise so I mean that in jest but also … kinda serious.
I’m not so high on the visuals at all to be honest. In-game cutscenes look fantastic. Gameplay tho can look a bit muddy and not so flattering in that castle area. Especially jarring when then launching death stranding directors cut on ps5. Im well aware art direction will make up for a shit ton.
I hope performance mode gets ironed out in the actual release and options to remove film grain and motion blur. It’s just a demo so I’m not expecting a finished product here but now that I’m actually excited about this game I’d like for a performance mode that isn’t this sloppy.

My god the first hour was so EPIC!! The tone is a lot darker than previous entries but I think it's time after 30 years.
Active Time Lore is a nice touch instead of being buried in a glossary you never check. It's like Xray on Prime Video. Don't forget to click anytime there's a cutscene.

Game doesn't treat you like a weeb? Umm FOMO intensifies.
I was not ready for that Eikon battle at the end. I thought it was a cutscene so I died staring at my screen. Is this the biggest achievement in video game history? 
The battle system you can try in the second demo is definitely the most impressive ever in a RPG. It's like a mix of Forspoken and DMC.

The story HITS you SO HARD. Not since TLOU I experienced something emotional like this
I am still not sure it wasn’t.
And it’s crazy because it fooled me that at few very tame moments and huge battle at the beginning.
The battle is some lost odyssey trailer shit and looks like cgi. Are we sure it’s not cgi

Xv starts slow and is weird but it’s good. 7remake is straight up incredible if you feel the quirk.

After I played the demo, I'm even more confident. In fact, I dare say it's a foregone conclusion now that it will, indeed, be my GOTY. It's as obvious to me as Elden Ring being my GOTY when it came out last year.
And this isn't an easy accomplishment in a year with Resident Evil 4 remake, Dead Space remake, Street Fighter 6, and Hi-Fi Rush.

The pinnacle way to play this will be on PC, that has more graphical and hud settings with a better frame rate. The demo had a few shortcomings that modders/PC would not have a problem fixing.

Pretty sure most of the performance problems will be cleaned up for the launch version, they showed a demo recently of a later part of the game that didn't have any performance dips. My guess is this version was originally supposed to be cut for Tokyo Game Show in 2022, but it didn't make it in time. If this game is as good as it seems it will be though I'll definitely be double dipping though.
It's so fucking good! I really love the new combat system and the darker tone of the game. The story is amazing even in the demo and I kept wanting more after I finished the main demo and the challenge mode. I don't think a demo has ever hooked me this hard. Square Enix should be really commended for taking chances and moving in a new direction in both their gameplay and story-telling. I feel this game will capture a lot of people that have written off Final Fantasy games over the years, it's that good.

Playing the demo now. The production values alone are fantastic. Gameplay is nice and easy to grasp. I was already planning on getting it, but now I'm definitely getting it.
Stutters will add a lot to this game. Wait for the PC version.
Do you actually play on PC or are you just hating on everything PlayStation since the Showcase?
The expectation that the game will run smoothly on PC doesn't seem realistic in 2023. If uneven performance botters you then you should hate PC even more than you seem to hate the PS5.
I actually regret having played in performance mode. It’s too erratic and I don’t have much great to say about the visuals because of it at all. I found it quite underwhelming. 30fps is definitely the way to go for the demo. At least it seems uniform. I found it to be a mixed bag visually and a bit underwhelming for next gen tbh.
That was me busy switching back and forth to compare. I eventually settled on Quality mode but nothing was giving me the IQ I wanted. I'd agree and say it's middle of the pack graphics wise going by next gen releases.
I can't relate at all, 30fps mode immediately felt inferior to me and insufficient while performance mode felt fine. If the frame dropped in the middle of a chaotic battle I wasn't focused on it.
It’s cleanest and runs best in combat but not in those same environments when out of combat and no enemies on screen. It has to be some borked scaler. I refuse to believe otherwise …
. I expect it to be dealt with by launch or in some short order. There’s no way man… I’d be disappointed if they slept on that.
