Everything Sony does now lost its prestige and magic. Everything flops on PC and the negativity spreads over the whole brand.

I barely care about anything related to them anymore. I'm not following the Pro launch at all, Lego Horizon might as well not exist, 30th anniversary, nothing. I just see them as another Xbox.

I actually didn't even buy the Horizon upgrade yet that's how low priority they became 🤣

My god the copium. It's not healthy.

On the contrary it is wishful thinking from you.

It’s not healthy.

Your budgets link means shit all for 2 reasons.

It shows other games PC port budgets years before release.

If Day 1 you wouldn’t have a budget of 7 million.

It would be shared with the Playstation port.

You guys and throwing all the costs on PlayStation ports.

No it doesn't. The only one is Spider-Man 2 in 2022 but take a look again, 0 dollars spent in 2022. Spider-Man 3 is the clear exception, 7 million spent already the year before it's supposed to release. Wonder why.

This reads like the opening narration to some dark fantasy, where Sony is a font of magic which has been corrupted, and there's some sort of PC blight invading the lands of the humble PS people.

The narrator is a tragic hero whose troubled past has left him apathetic to the horrors they witness, yet they fight against the tide with a sword more akin to a wall of steel than a blade.

I and others already predicted this would happen, we just have to wait 10 days more to round out the symphony of flops from the house of Hulst.

I will bet my left nut that Yotei will also sell less than Tsushima, Except for DS2 Sony has no worthwhile release next year as well. I sincerely hope the China Hero project teams wise up and stop associating with the losers like Herman's playstation

Seems like it's actually X-Men not Spider Man 3 but if some games are going, you know it's going to be all of them especially considering the fact that Sony is paying a Marvel a shit ton. All the better info was on Reddit when it leaked a year ago and all the links broken down everything but they don't work anymore. It included an internal PC build for Wolverine so using common sense, if Wolverine is releasing before Spider Man 3, logic tells you that Spider Man 3 would be right behind it. Perhaps it wouldn't be day one but the only people who are coping are those who believe that it will never happen.

Also, Sony is NOT going to lose 30% drop off rate for early adopters because the tech will be far better in PlayStation 6 which means that you would be paying even more in four years than you would be paying now and 95% of people aren't doing that especially if they just want to a console to play a few games a year plus they're not going to sacrifice their digital libraries as well as take a chance not playing with their buddies online. But time will tell all.

Killzone on this market that lacks 1st person military/sci fi shooters would easily sell 5+ million. Imagine the tech & it wouldn’t have to be ambition it could literally be a linear sci fi/military shooter singleplayer game like COD/Battlefield or Uncharted & ensure a mature & gritty story. They could also push live service a Killzone multiplayer it might not be the biggest thing in the world or do well on PC (the multiplayer itself) but on PS there could easily be 25k-50k on PS alone playing the multiplayer even ensure it hits PS4 & PS5 to have a big enough playerbase
Just a straight remaster with a few touch ups is all that's needed. Killzone 2 still looks amazing today, nearly 20 years on. It needs 1080p@60fps upgrade and let the PS5 magic upscale it to 4k.
Launch it on PS5+PC for easy money.

But nahh, Herman is done with a franchise like that, even as you say, in a sector crying out for a sci-fi shooter. Simple multiplayer with no perks or hero abilities or crap like that, just old school run and gun skill.
I'd buy that for a dollar.

4k60fps native if remastered, easy.

You do know Spiderman 3 is not releasing in 2025 or 2026 for PS5, right?

Also, you might be confusing FY for CY. SM2's biggest budget allocation was for FY 24, and it's releasing January 2025...which is still in SIE's FY 2024 (April 2024 - March 2025).

Some are thinking the port is coming so soon (little over a year after PS5 version CY-wise) to boost up revenues for the FY report.

So many people don't get this. Yes, I'm sure Sony is basing their decisions on some data. They're not doing it at random. But to pretend these companies and the people in charge are gods that can't do no wrong, is incredibly silly. You already mentioned several companies, let me add another one.

Xbox. A company with HUGE money backing it and people who "know what they're doing" and look how it ended up.

Sony's strategies seem like a scattershot of ideas thrown at random, hoping something sticks. Their GaaS initiative is a complete failure and will be an even bigger laughing stock when Fairgames flops.

But hey, only about 9 of those GaaS to go. For now, unless they add more...

You know, it is pretty funny how certain people here act like Xbox shouldn't serve as a warning of what could happen to PlayStation following that same strategy. They think PlayStation is "too big to fail", like the banks...

Maybe they forgot some of the banks did in fact fail & go bankrupt (particularly Lehman Brothers, one of the Big Banks) 👀

What about the other games on the list? FY-wise.

I’m not confusing anything.

I never said it was releasing in 2025 or 2026 on PS5?

The point was what makes him think it is 2027 for PC and PS5 day and date.

Those budget allocations show nothing but the contrary.

If Spider-Man 3 was day and date why is the cost 7 million on a port and not the whole development cost shared?

Crazy to think all development and marketing costs are thrown on the Playstation port especially when it is Day and Date.

Turns out the leak isn’t even sure it is Spider-Man or an X-Men game.

I was thinking purely for time and budget. 1080p can be slapped together in no time.

This game came out in 2009, before the PS3 - a console launched in 2006 (UK) hit it's stride. Look how good it still looks. Open levels and heavy sounding guns, proper dialogue and action.

15 years of superior tech has led to inferior games.

The list only refers to the PC port costs (and even then, just whatever costs aren't already absorbed by the PlayStation version, hence why I believe a lot of the costs listed don't reflect the total costs, such as costs in engine retooling & optimization).

General idea is that the PS6 itself will launch in 2027/2028. Assuming Spiderman 3 would be a launch title for it, if FY '27 is indeed the highest ramp-up of the costs for that version per the trend of the chart/data sheet, then a PC port either at launch or within ~ 3 months of launch (into early 2028) would slot.

Of course it's possible PS6 launches late 2028 instead of late 2028, and it's possible the FY '27 costs for Spiderman 3's PC version are only the start i.e final listed port costs would be for FY '28 which isn't on the chart. But considering SM2 is releasing on PC only little over a year after PS5, and if SIE's GAAS initiative bombs then there's an increased chance they'll push for 6 months - 1 year stagger of major non-GAAS releases between console & PC to compensate, then chances are still likelihood of SM3's PC port timing is likely between late 2027 (earliest) and early 2029 (latest).

Trends would suggest a window closer to the "late 2027" side of the scale, so depending on when PS6 launches (likely late 2028), SM3 might be a 3 or 4-month timed exclusive at most. Again I have to keep stating, I DO NOT AGREE with SIE's PC/multiplatform strategy on the whole. I know that such timing for SM3 to PC (or especially if it were Day 1) would have nothing but negative impacts on early console adoption rates of PS6. Anybody can figure this out.

But at this point I'm tired of acting like SIE aren't slowly creeping to that direction, so I'm just looking at the whole multiplatform initiative from a distance and speaking on possibilities & probabilities, not so much what I personally feel would be best for them with that strategy.

Oh I didn't either. I think a lot of us feel like that.

They sucked all the excitement out of being a PlayStation fan.

Basically where I'm at, too. PlayStation now just kinda feels like another brand that exists among a sea of other gaming brands. Yes its market share and sales would say it's certainly more prominent than most other gaming brands & platforms, but there's less of a spark/passion for me in discussing things related to the brand, and that started really settling in at some point earlier this year.

Like I'm interested in PS5 Pro tech like PSSR, but the PS5 Pro itself has little appeal to me as a gaming product. SIE have done little to show it's as transformative an upgrade as the PS4 Pro was. Diminishing returns play a part in that, but there's also the fact that most games they've used or could have used to show the jump from PS5 to Pro, already have just-as-good if not better versions running on PC. Provided, if you have the right PC specs to handle it.

Even so, the footage is out there and has been for a long time. PS4 Pro had a bit of that issue as well, but it was balanced out by the fact that Sony's own 1P games weren't on PC during its run, so the PS4 Pro always got you the best version of SIE's games out there, no question. PS5 Pro? Okay sure HZD Remastered looks pretty on it but a spec'd out PC can run it even better, and that's before talking about mod support.

The spectacle and excitement that entailed has mostly vanished. Lackluster SOPs, lack of showcases, lack of what feel like substantive 1P studio investments and wonky optics/communication all play a part of that, too. But, I digress.

Nowhere does the leaked budgets indicate Day and Date and neither does the leak confirm it is Spiderman 3.

Let's not go into what might happen or not.

That's a great way to put it. Sony were corrupted by the PC blight and got lost in the horrors of the Xbox land. Now they have a legion of shitty PCMR, who never gave a fuck about them, that will defend their every move while the rest of us laugh at their decaying flesh.

2k CCU and number 166 on top sellers 🤣🤣🤣
