I throw stuff on my wishlist a lot, and if I see an acceptable sale I will bite, like I'd rather buy RE3 for 15 bucks than have it on disc. But typically when a game is hot and I want it, physical costs the same as digital and I'd rather have physical in that case.

If you either have a gray source for it, or have the time to dig for deals, maybe. Otherwise, $12 for a complete edition of a game isn’t easy to beat.
Sorry, but majority of countries has cheaper physical, day 1 or through second hand market.
Through, Amazon, eBay and other sellers exist too.

Where did I say they didn't?

I said where I am digital works best. I don't really give a fuck what other countries do, as I am here, not there, so their game pricing is of no consequence. If that causes you distress, oh well.

But we talk about majority and not about your village 😂 even your own comment sounds as authority WW 😁
Do you not bug things on sale?

If you don’t buy day one, digital can be a lot cheaper than physical.
But whatever. We know your situation, time to move on. 😁

It depends on the time frame.

Going to GameStop is not that hard, neither is searching fb marketplace or eBay.

I don't have physical anymore, but I also noticed how harder is has been to get heavy discounts for a while now.

GameStop is $5 below MSRP for used, unless there's a big sale going, and assuming they have what you want to buy on sale used. It's kind of a crapshoot. I've even seen the odd game selling used there for ABOVE MSRP if it is a rare enough title.

They also have bins for cheapo older games, those may or may not be on sale on PSN.

You going to see a lot of that slow down once those next gen only titles start coming out with that um...next gen size lol

Thats how it was the start of the last gen too, you saw a lot of cross gen games and people downloaded a lot, and then them sweet next gen only titles started to come out lol Even myself, I download quite a few games, but certain games i prefer to just own a copy of it if its a once over type thing so I can sell it.

I come to realize most games I don't actually play twice.

FF, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, The Last Of Us, Elder Scrolls, Fallout....

That's about it lol

I just don't see me really replaying MOST games. Like most of next year legit is a huge list of once overs for me, I only see me keeping RE4 remake, FFXVI and Spiderman 2

Dead Space remake, Silent Hill 2 remake, Dead Island 2, AC Mirage, Hogwarts RPG, Star Wars Fallen Order 2 etc, I actually plan to sell to a few friends the week after release. They mad about that next gen price...good, I'll buy it at $70, sell it to them for $50...everyone wins lol I had to really, really look at my set up, back log to fully get that vast majority I'm not replaying to really keep or "download". So downloads for me will just be sales, PS Plus, Extra stuff. Even sales is a maybe as I tend to always peak at Amazon and Gamestop when ever a PSN sale rolls around to see if I can get a better deal or something.

@KiryuRealty and @Alabtrosmyster agreed with both. You have to really look around to find some great deals.

I once got Doom on PS4 for like $10 from Walmart years ago, it was like 2017 or so, a year after it came out and I had to do a double take lol Was an easy buy. Some times you find that rare deal and it makes sense to take a peak at that used corner at Walmart (greatly under looked) or Gamestop (rare, but some deals exist there for sure) and I always cross reference with Amazon.

I think too many gamers don't trust publishers in the game industry to really hop on a digital only thing. We just watched Overwatch 1 get killed to prop up 2. Imagine if we have digital only? Nothing would stop a publisher from just making this a standard thing ,single player or MP be damned lol

We need a law to protect consumers rights on digital games and its about time it caught up to this. Right now, you are just buying a fucking rental with digital and before I feel comfortable with all digital thing, we need those rights to protect consumers to make a heathy industry for everyone.

Even during Black Friday and Days of Play, digital sales can't match the prices of Physical in Nordic countries.

I will buy mainly physical disc as long as it exists.
I don't resell, but gift my games when I'm done with them to friends and family.

Digital, as it is now, has a lot of negatives. I can see the comforts of it, there are many, but for me, they don't outweigh the drawbacks they are bound to.

The production process, material and shipping of physical media makes it bad for the environment. That along with me not wanting to collect crap and being a lazy bastard that doesn't want to change disks makes digital a no brainier for me .

As I said, there are many comforts with digital.

But digital, especially on console, means being bound to an account which, for whatever reason, could lose access to the whole library.

If one of the console manufacturers tomorrow decides/has to end their service, it takes whatever I have digital, with them.

Alone for this point, I will never go full digital.

I cannot lend my games to friends, neither could I borrow one if I had a digital only console.

I am often able to preorder/buy physical games on day 1 at least 10€ cheaper.

Your physical collection could be stolen, lost in a flood or burn in a fire. If my house burns down, I can log onto a new PS5 and have all my games right where they were.

Hypothetical, but I have full value insurance on personal estate(I hope this means what I think it means, insurance terms in English I'm not that familiar with).
I could even buy different games if I don't choose to replace them, i don't collect games so loosing those copies wouldn't be a big issue anyways.

Then again Game collectors should regularly do an inventory of their collection for insurance reasons.
