If some users on this forum are to be believed, each and every one of them.
But if you take an extra second to think about it, those $1 increases won't nearly be enough to off-set single digit percentage drops in their quarterly earnings, which is millions and millions in dollar amount.
Make of that what you will.
Im genuinely interested about the numbers.
Im not saying its everyone or anything, but Ive seen an increase in advertisement for it in the last 2 months. Whereas before Id see it in email or 1 or 2 places. And my brother picked it up too for a dollar recently on PC. He done the same before.
Im guessing maybe 20-10% will be $1-$5 subs.
Obviously they were expecting a much bigger push with Starfield coming in November and have needed to advertise and make discounts to keep interest for a certain percentage of fans.
No one who is selling super super well will put on discounts…. (Damn you Nintendo and your lack of 1st party discounts, Im not paying £50 for Pikmin 3 lol)
I think Gamepass will do ok numbers in the future, but I think sub services in general are always up and down. And they won‘t be the total future.
As far as sub services, there will always be the hardcore fans. But the middle and lesser keen fans will join, leave, rejoin all the time.
Its not gonna be 80million+ consistent members for a long time I believe. The competition will get better also and probably new companies will join the industry ( Google, Apple, Amazon etc).
Xbox/MS despite what alot of people think have been incredibly smart though. Even if they competition does better, or companies like Google and Amazon join the industry, Xbox have bought some IP’s that will always keep them in the industry. Minecraft, Call of Duty, Doom, Crash, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Gears, Quake, Forza etc will always sell decent, or make comebacks. Regardless if the competition does alot better or Amazon come in and buy EA and Take2, I think Xbox is pretty safe.
Even if they aren’t great at making new IP or haven’t done a good job of Halo recently it can always make a comeback if done properly. This is the same with all these big IP, done correctly, they will always have a decent place in the industry.
