Yes this is why I think it will happen, especially if Starfield is a well received. "Play the amazing GOTY Starfield for free on gamepass" (vs paying £70 on PS5) it makes the Xbox look like a better purchase value wise.

I don't categorize earned market share as a monopoly. So, no, she's not speaking the truth. She's speaking as someone with a vested interest in this deal going through, though.
She'd have a lot to gain monetarily from this going through. It's also funny how many of the "pro-worker" people on era have made her their champion despite her union-busting. It just reveals what this is really about for them.

She's also speaking from her asshole considering Sony brought receipts on the "offer" Microsoft sent. Assuming the redacted parts are as spicy as they seem, it's like me saying "They were thirsty and I offered them a bottle of water. Why won't they take it???" while conveniently ignoring the water is laced with cyanide.

I also wouldn't call what Playstation has a monopoly. If they make a big enough mistake it could turn into a PS3 situation for them all over again.
