Back on topic - I think Sony refuses to show any 1st party because they are scared if the deal goes through, and want to make sure to play their cards right before they show anything. Either way....it's quite entertaining.

They are right to block it both for the good of the industry, consumer choice, including retail versions and digital options and for Sony as a company and the shareholders that he answers to.

For what it's worth, the full-page ads are in the Financial Times and the Daily Mail. I haven't heard much about the Financial Times, but I have not heard very good things about the credibility of the Daily Mail.

How do MS not realise that what works in the States does not necessarily work in Europe. MS' European staff should be dealing with European regulators as they should understand the culture. This ad screams loud American talking down to Europe. Also the UK does not have 150m people so maybe they should have tweaked it to show the additional UK gamers they hope to bring in. Just a thought.

It certainly helps clarify why the XBox brand has never achieved market share beyond a few regions, unlike the world wide scale that Sony and Nintendo enjoy. Not only is there a lack of understanding of other cultures, but a refusal to try and learn.
