Alleged cuck/molester and Reee admin posts an unabashedly pro-MS opinion piece on why the deal is good for gaming.

Polygon, as those of us who've been following the industry long enough will recall, made a documentary (Press Reset) about their founding that was funded by Microsoft.

Surprisingly hard to find links to this, but here's the documentary's director's website for proof:

Neogaf had a thread about it back in 2012 which you can still read now, and there are screenshots of Arthur Gies confirming $750k worth of funding on twitter.

I wouldn't be surprised if Reee's new owners are on the take.

The fact that Boosteroid hurried to change their location (and the CEO's location on LinkedIn) from Romania (Dubai) to Ukraine to help MS score political points is hilarious.

Somebody please tweet this to Chris Dring at gamesindustrybiz. At least we know he'll report it.
The previous attack by the Xboys was so vicious he had to change the title of his article and deactivate his Twitter account until the mob went away. He still gets hateful tweets.

Basically, from what I understand, the service lets you stream the games you own to different devices. Apparently, the service already lets you stream COD if you own it, though you would be violating ABKs TOS by doing so. I guess MS are promising that they'll change the TOS so that you can no longer get in trouble for streaming the games you own on these services, which isn't as major as they make it sound.

So basically these types of cloud services provide the infrastructure but not the actual content? I honestly don't see the appeal. If you have to buy the game anyway, chances are you'd buy it for some hardware at home decently capable of running it natively. Then if you want to stream that to a phone, you can do it yourself, no cloud service necessary.

I mean who buys games they can't run on their own systems anyway, even on PC? I guess this service mainly appeals to PC gamers who want to act like they're playing on a 4090 but have a 1050 and 4 GB.

Which might be a bigger audience than first thought.

Even then they are terrible at that.

Well, I do know the NPD leak originated from a user there, and that was a very helpful leak for a few reasons.

Haven't lurked around InstallBase that much honestly; dudes like Mauler X are at Reset though in that ABK thread, and I think they may be even more unhinged Xbox fans than Bernd.

This is pure PR fluff, right? CMA can't be challenged.

Where do they keeping getting this idea of the CMA having to fight in court from? That’s not how it works. The most that could happen is the CTA tells them that their methodology for coming to their decision was flawed in some way and that they have to start the process over. Basically, just dragging everything out over another year.

It seems like Microsoft is catering to resetera mods, the polygons of the world, and insane Twitter cult members instead of actual regulators. What if Sony or whoever calls their bluff to regulators on the fact that this literally who company was established in Romania until last week? Wouldn’t that look terrible optics wise, so much so that the stunt isn’t even worth it?

The stunt is irrelevant, CMA doesn’t care. They want CoD out.

This is all a PR stunt meant to control public perception. I've already seen fanboys begin to accuse anyone not in favor of the deal of being anti-Ukraine.

Couple of questions. So the CMA is standing pretty strong in wanting divesture right?

What is going on with the EC? What's this stuff on ree about them likely to approve?

And the FTC?

There have been several news sources that say that the EC is likely to approve. FTC is against the deal, but they would have to win against MS in court to actually block it. The CMA have a lot more power to block the deal than the FTC and based on their provisional findings, they seem pretty adamant on wanting divestiture.

Cool thanks. So it's seems like this thing hinges on what the CMA decides.....
So maybe 50/50 chance?

Yes, I'll be sure to just ignore all the experts and listen to random Playstations fans on this forum instead next time. See you in two months.
You better pray to to this deal go on,because if not its gonna break your fucking souls

That's about where I'm at. CMA seemed pretty adamant about not liking behavioral remedies tho, so it might be closer to 0 atm. MS are trying their damned hardest to pressure them into accepting them anyway.

I am a Switch owner and, although I would in theory get access to CoD from this I actually have zero interest in playing it so all I "get" out of it is losing access to Crash. I want the deal to go through but only because I think platform owners strengthening their line-ups is a good thing and, not viewing the move as anti-competitive or monopoly creating, have, as a capitalist, a political interest in being allowed.
