They literally have no arguments. They are clinging to market definition reasons, when other regulators have reached the exact same definitions, only those decided to approve the deal.

If market definition is their main argument, I don't see how that works atm.

He is, but he's not there to judge the merits of the market definition, so it's futile. People need to understand that the hearing is about what the CMA must review (if anything at all) and that's it.

Sounds like he is singlehandedly defining what the market is and when the cma has to do it.

Nah, the guy reppping the cma today is just an amateur compared to the ms appeal lawyer. The judge will side with the more logical arguments.

The CAT are supposed to reveal the timeline for when they will eventually rule on this today aren't they?

Yes, I believe that's it. And seems like the judge is inclined to speed up the timeline. The CMA was dumb, they sent a shit lawyer and it shows.

Also, I can only imagine the narratives from Florian and Era on this hearing.

Oh they already started. The amount of hopium in ERA today is amazing.

The only thing that matters is when the judge sets the deadline. It doesnt sound like activsion wants an extension. The judge can spout off all he wants but if the deadline is after july 18th its still dead.

Yeah, that's my reading of it. What people are forgetting, namely those on the hopium camp, is that any extended timeline past the 18th of July will need to be approved by the shareholders of both companies. And looking at a deal that's growing to be more and more uncertain, and the CMA being the biggest roadblock, shareholders may actually just bail. I thought Microsoft's ones would actually be bailing on this, so ABK having cold feet is surprising, but it kinda makes sense.

Do we know how long this hearing is supposed to take?
