If they appeal instantly, I hope they go full on Cloud.
Some reasonability from Derek as to why and how the FTC can get the PI.
Still a long shot, but at least the FTC was able to lift MS mask.
If you read Bill Gates' letters and emails back when he was running Microsoft, it's like he read every single negative stereotype and claim about Capitalism as if it were an instruction book. And that's not a joke.I think a big part of the problem with MS is they think of people as exploitable wallets. And that money is rightfully theirs to take. If they can't persuade you to give it to them (eg. Game Pass), they'll compel you to (buy up the most popular IPs and make them exclusive). This has been the attitude I've seen from MS ever since the XBox one reveal. Of course, it would be lovely if they saw people as customers who they need to earn loyalty and money from. Like, for example, consistently release great games to draw people to your platform. That's not happening, though, and we now have a really good look as to why with all the information from the FTC trial.
When I look at XBox fans like our own @Exanthus who is a cool cat that prefers the XBox platform, I genuinely want MS to just cut the bullshit and do better. But when I look at people like the one you are replying to - I realize they have no need to. There are people, some paid and some not, who will never expect or demand any standards from MS.
I mean, duh?
Just pointing things out before another wave of doom and gloom sweeps through.I mean, duh?

The Meta-Within judge took 6 weeks to rule and that was a very small case.
Complexity of the case combined with her idiocy that won't be resolved in a few weeks, I don't know how she can make a reasonable judgment in a short time. The Meta-Within judge took 6 weeks to rule and that was a very small case.
If the judge rushes to give her final decision before July 12, she basically gives Microsoft the go ahead to close the deal before the deadline without the FTC. It will show the world she was on their side all along and how corrupted she is.
U.S. judge denies FTC request to stop Meta from acquiring VR firm Within
A judge on Friday released a ruling denying the Federal Trade Commission's request to stop Meta Platforms Inc from buying virtual reality content maker Within Unlimited, rejecting the regulator's concerns the deal would reduce competition in a new market.www.reuters.com
Yeah. If you want an example of uninformed and out of touch, look no further than her comment about how everyone has a gaming PC.Complexity of the case combined with her idiocy that won't be resolved in a few weeks, I don't know how she can make a reasonable judgment in a short time.
The sane thing to do is grant the PI and let this go through the full court proceedings. I mean people can also argue well she can't reasonably grant the PI in the short amount of time either, but it's the sanest option.
And if the case reaches a federal judge again and it's the same judge, then she could use the time to wise up.
What concerning is, this judge was not corrected on alot of her really bad takes during the hearing, so this judge will be assessing the evidence and arguements with her really shit takes.
So looks like Mr sleepy brown was right
It will be interesting if the FTC do appeal how it plays out. If they do appeal i'd think the judge would have to maybe extend the temporary injunction just incase as the decision would not be final after an appeal? So it'd probaly go over the expiry date anyway, gamers lawsuit is still going after weeks after an appeal.
That's what you get for dealing with the devil(Kotick), MS LMAOPerhaps I misunderstood it, but surely Bobby requesting in mid-injunction hearing to negotiate with Sony about COD in case they lost the merger attempt must have been seen as a negative blow? Im imagining MS' lawyers leaving courtroom muttering "wtf is he doing? We're literally trying to buy his company, and he's trying to set himself up a fallback plan..."
The FTC can't use the son as an excuse before it started they were asked if they had an issue with her being in charge of the case knowing her son worked for MS. They screwed themselves out of that excuse. However there is a law saying she should have recused herself since it could pose a bias toward one side but I don't believe that takes effect considering the FTC agreed to this situation. The FTC has a great case to appeal if they lose, the judge's son works for MS yet she chose not to recuse herself. If they are able to slow the process down they should win by default since Bobby did not seem too interested in giving MS more time.
