Otherwise a screwdriver should do it.
1) Get a compatible m.2 pcie gen 4 ssd, preferably with heatsink
2) slide the plates off
3) unscrew the ssd compartment cover
4) plug in the ssd
5) put everything back on
6) start the ps5, it'll go through some menus and format the ssd to the ps5 file system
Done, post-install you can also go into the system settings and change the default game installation location if you want.

Original is a bit classier looking but it's ok.
Now you will be able to replace broken disc drive or add one to digital. That's good news for physical gamers.
The only downside is no usb A on the front. I use it for pulse 3d dongle which I switch often between ps5 and pc... but I've heard new pulse elite will support switching between multiple dongles

Much better if the size is accurate, compared to the current PS5 model.
Also not understanding the people saying it's ugly; at least the PS5 has some visual flair. I actually quite like the look of this new model with the disc drive attached.

Anything that's pcie gen 4 with the m.2 form factor, preferably read speeds > ~5500mb/s, there's a bunch of ssds with >7000mb/s read speed that should give you peace of mind.
Leakers well leaked some render of what was the new PS5 Slim model.

I won't give credits to fake leakers but these are the supposed Slim.
These leakers are all idiots lol. Sony is following the PS5 design with all of its products this gen. Every single product is ps5 design coded. From the console to PSVR2, they want you to know that product belongs to ps5 family, it’s smart design. They would never completely overhaul the ps5 design because of it.
Lets be honest, when has a slim version ever looked better than the default version? I can count one time (XBO) and thats only because the original was awful. Other than that its always a step ip in utility, a step down in function.

Aesthetics are always debatable but I liked the chrome and gloss over the matted plastic look of the slim. Sans finger-prints, of course.

Ps one revision looked nice. Xbox 360 E and slim looked better than the original.
