I would never! I don't mind people disliking a game. But at least have your valid reasons lol. That guy is just a flaming hater who doesn't have a reason to hate the game other than it's cool to do so.
Days Gone takes awhile to pull you in, so If you can't make it past the first 10 hours the yeah, the game will seem a bit dull.

I think with Days Gone had the game ended with the Rippers, it would have allowed the devs to release a polished game for launch. It is a meaty story up to that point anyway. Throw in the promise of free DLC for the rest of the game and release when the bugs are fixed and the overall game would have gotten significant positive media coverage. Days Gone suffered as it was a buggy mess at launch. The players praising the game mainly didn't play it when the game was rough at launch.
I had some bugs at launch I won't lie. But the hate for Days Gone didn't start at launch it was from the minute it was debuted lol. The Last of Us Clone , then we had the narrative "oh yes, another White protagonist"
.Don't forget the infamous Gamespot review of well... "There's no black freakers" ... Then people started taking dialog outta context starting with the wedding scene "promise to ride me as much as you ride your bike"... The pitch forks were out for it.
The game didn't get negative media attention because of the bugs it was the character being too white one of the reviews literally complained about deacon being 'another gruff white guy' they also complained about Sarah saying he should ride her as much as he rides his bike at their wedding
- Days Gone had a boring ~6 hour start but then it was quite fun and engaging IMO. Sony pulling the rug from a sequel was a mistake.
- Killzone 3 was awesome, but Liberation seemed a bit rushed to fit the PS4's release window. Mercenary was one of Vita's best games though it was short. The series was still good, though.
- Resistance was also nice, but they gave up after 3 was a commercial failure (though IIRC it was mostly bad release timing).
- Uncharted was great but they ended the series.
In the end, what it looks like is Sony is hell bent into erasing the manly man protagonist from all their 1st party IP. Joel got killed off to be replaced by a butch woman and a lesbian, and even Kratos is now turning sentimental after getting sweet baby inc'ed.
And now Concord is whatever mangle of uninspired ideas their character designers woke up to that day.

Would have been better off as a TLOU spinoff and part of the TLOU universe.
Clickers, Bloaters, Runners, Stalkers replaced by Freakers, Reachers and Bleachers.

You are looking at one review and attaching it to everything. And worse you took the review of the same person that had the infamous Pokemon "7.8 too much water" review or refused to do certain side missions in Cyberpunk as you would be helping the police. If you still hold her opinion as holding water, best of luck to you. I disregard terrible reviewers. Her opinion on games differs wildly from my own so I don't read hers. I couldnt tell you if she still reviews games as I have had my fill of incompetence in reviews. I don't read Stevivor reviews or Grubb for the same reasons.
There were a few reviewers trying desperately to make a name for themselves at that time period but the reviewers were unhappy with the bugs. Read The 80 reviews downward to 70 and these give the honest feel of the game. It was never a 100 as one review gave it, nor was it was a 60-70 game. The story isn't an epic, the main character is bland and it was buggy. It's still a nice game. My favourite movie is The Shawshank Redemption but I've probably seen Under Siege the same amount of times.

The game was a buggy mess at launch and Bend are lucky that they are still around. Others were culled for similar crimes. The game is good, post patches, but it was never going to be a 10/10 even with bugs eliminated. Sometimes you need a good 8/10 game similar to Terminator: Resistance which is a great game but never a 10/10. Days Gone is a great 8/10 game.
