What frustrates me the most is that the PS5 Pro version won't even come close to receiving the attention that the PC version gets.
In my opinion, PS5 PRO, even if we imagine that PC ports don't exist, is not the best solution, given the small number of releases that would fully utilize the potential of PS5 FAT and the large damage from the covid crisis of conductors and scalpers in the first 2 years of sales.

But they released it, and at the same time ported all their games to PC...

Sony believes they can get away with porting all these games to PC with no PS5 game announcements and hardware sales and longtime PS owners will be fine.

Consumers are not dumb. They know what PlayStation always stood for. Abundance of games and exclusives.

I’m so glad they’re getting made fun of in the comments and people are letting them know this shit is not cool

Unfortunately, the last 10-15 years in the industry have shown something completely different: consumers cannot see beyond their noses and cannot imagine the consequences of their decisions.

Many good games have failed and buried their own parents, and not only that.

But many consumers continue to say “piracy doesn't affect anything”, “marketing and its competence are not important, if the game is good, people will buy it”, and “the exclusivity of Sony games is bad, it's great that more people will try it”.

Most of such "consumers" are playing dumb and trying to gaslight others to serve their agenda. Very few people truly are that stupid.

It’s unfortunate the Marvel deal doesn’t start and end with Spider-man.

Casual gamers yes. But I’m talking about the diehard hardcore fanbase. The ones that are not afraid to tell Sony on their faltering. Basically the people with common sense.

The shorter Sony keeps making these PC ports the more outrage we are going to see. And with no showcase revealing all their first party games? Good luck with that Sony.

Sony exclusives actually helps 3rd party developers. There is no downside to them. It’s the green rats/PC cucks that are mad talking FUD about Sony. Their opinion is irrelevant.

They’re the same ones also celebrating these PC ports. Some are in this very thread.

ChatGP closet green rats and PC mustards.

Good. They deserve every bit of criticism at this point. But since they're afraid of interacting with their own community, they'll just pretend there's no criticism.

Also, something no one brings up is if SIE start making their timed exclusivity windows for their own games shorter to say, 6 months, guess what else gets shorter windows? Any 3P exclusives. Guess what PlayStation gets less of? 3P exclusives. And if SIE pull the trigger to go Day 1 for everything, guess what PlayStation doesn't get anymore? 3P exclusives.

Because why would a 3P do any kind of exclusivity strategy when SIE's own games no longer do them? Someone, pull up that picture of Kenichiro Yoshida & Satya Nadella again, because SIE this gen feels like it's been coopted.

It makes more sense to release a standalone game for venom. Different marketing push. More hype.

Folks are just looking for reasons to be triggered.

Next game has to be about japanese spiderman. Throw a curveball ffs...

They showed these reasons in the leak.

The ROI of stand-alone games using the work already done in the main game is giant.

Miles Morales ROI was 122%.
Spider-man 2 just 35%.
Spider-man remaster 48%.

The comparison is even unfair… if you don’t have to build the engine, assets, etc to a new hardware like happened with Spider-man 2 the. Everything should be standalone games :D

BTW people trend to buy more standalone games than DLCs because the DLCs you need to have the original game and played it to end while a stand-alone game can be played even if you never played the main titles.

Sony should use more standalone games over paid DLC… just free DLC should continue being DLC.

Newsflash: Despite of being competitior's, they often buy or rent each other technologies for different things, Sony is for example a big fan of MS Azure servers.

SIE isn't. Stop repeating this lie, it is VERY EASY to look up who SIE uses servers from and it's not Azure. It's AWS.

Also this idea that them buying things from each other means they aren't or shouldn't be competitors in a market where competition benefits customers is dumb. SCEA bought long box jewel cases from SEGA of America back in the early 32-bit days. Did that mean Sony & SEGA weren't competing against each other with PS1 & Saturn?

Amazing that the first reaction a certain kind of people get is to dismiss it as "unrelated to gaming". That meeting (that was more political than anything) and that photo are symbolic of an idiotic subservient mindset that affected the Sony corporation as a whole.

Yep, corporate politics. That's what it was all about. Looking back I feel it was part of a larger initiative by Microsoft to pacify a rival in a market they wanted growth in (gaming), but also to shore up smaller companies (relative to them) against Google, Apple & Tencent.

I didn't think that photo would be the beginning of the end for PlayStation's long-storied & stable identity in gaming as a console platform, yet here we are...

The leadership is too westernized across all the Sony subsidiaries even if the HQ is in japan. Nintendo of America and Europe are nothing but bitches of the nintendo japan. Funny thing is playstation doesnt have the cache in terms of IP or manpower to go full 3rd party like xbox, overall the slow death by a thousand cuts is going to be the ultimate result.
