Because that has made such a huge difference in adoption for xbox over playstation, right?
If you think thats a better deal as a consumer go buy an xbox and all your problems are solved, this is better for you
That's the last thing I'll ever do, yet you guys are the one that want PlayStation to lose all it's identity and become like a lackluster version of Xbox with no exclusives, all games on PC and nothing going on for it, just an overpriced store and paid online.
Do I look like someone who enjoys Bungie games? You guys are the one cheering for money to go to Bungie and other GaaS studios, for ND to spend years making a GaaS, for other Sony studios that never made a GaaS to now start making them.
So sony shuttered all its first party studios this gen? if the only reason you bought a playstation was for 3rd party games, you’re in luck becuase you’re still getting all those games.
Doing nothing and doing 12 of those games, with a budget that's MUCH higher than that for single player games, are different.
Over the past few years, Sony lost access to 2 MAJOR publishers and over a dozen big IPs and partnership with Sega, a company they were close with for decades.
In that time, they only secured a few small studios, who besides Housemarque, are all working on GaaS.
This isn't just fearmongering. This is a pattern. It's simple complacency. Sony can talk about "cooking" all they want but their actions speak otherwise.
So don’t?
I buy playstation because it gets every 3rd party game by default on top of their award winning exclusives.
Looks like they did, where are all the future first party games? I did not became a PlayStation fan because of Marvel, in fact I can't stand Marvel at this point.
Plus PS first-party is selling better than ever this generation.
While some keep having parties about acquisitions PlayStation owners keep buying games and playing them.

On top of that Square Enix has already been realising their games on Xbox. They were never exclusive to any console. Sony just had the big AAA games exclusive.
Heck there’s a bunch of games not on PlayStation that’s exclusive to Switch. PS still haven’t got Octopath Traveler while it’s on Switch and Xbox.
MS getting, and trying to get, Square Enix games is nothing new. They’ve done this before. They always say they’re working with SE to get more games. They’ve said this years ago.

No it doesn't. Plenty of it came also from third party publisher making games exclusively to PlayStation.
What do future games have to do with what they released in the last two years? Supporting their console is their job, or are you know cool with PlayStation being just like Xbox?
Don't you get it? I hate MS/Xbox way more than all of you combined apparently since you guys are the one that are fine with PlayStation future being just what Xbox is about, GaaS, PC ports, boring/safe games. If Phil Spencer were a PlayStation executive you would love him since you guys are even loyal to Jim Ryan.
I already have a Series X. It's as simple as picking up another controller for me. I just vastly prefer the PS ecosystem and would love to have access to these games there.
And yes, nothing changed. For now. It won't happen over night. It took Sony an entire generation of partnerships and great games to drag themselves out of the PS3 hole. These partnerships and acquisitions accumulate over time.
You all just need to admit you’re mad that xbox players can now play final fantasy and persona games and stop bs’ing. You aren’t losing anything of value other than console war rhetoric.
Right now they have more singleplayer games announced then GAAS games. They are pumping out way more singleplayer games then ever. If folks want to pivot and say they don't like those single player games, get an xbox and move on.
Their singleplayer output for the frist 3 years of the ps5 has beat the ps4.
