Take no joy in seeing a game get a low score. Even for shady players like Microsoft, which deserves a lot for many reasons and to a lesser extent Bethesda. But you know how it's, AAA flagships gotta deliver or else... the industry won't move forward and standards won't improve if everyone is pampered. You go exclusive and become a flagship release... all eyes on you.

I am really conficted ...

One hand: Happy that the scores are decent and folks excited about it will get to enjoy the game!
On The Other: Happy that the Xbox over-hype PR push / Influencer campaign / review code shennagins netted them a non GOTY title.

So what could i get is:

Positives
  • RPG elelements are much stronger thasn in Previous Betehsda Games
  • Character creation inventory management is really good
  • Shiton of quests & content
  • Animations and combat are good
  • Story is really good
  • Ship building is really good
Problems

  • Most of the planets are barren
  • Planet exploration goes down to classic Ubisoft formula "go there and kill everyone"
  • It's super easy to get lost in the game
  • Shitload of loadingscreen even with SSD
  • Shit peformance on Xbox Series S

The fact that IGN and Gamespot didnt gave this high scores is a red flag considering how they love to jerk on big game studios titles. I think i will just get the standard edition.

Great scores! Although I didn't like Fallout 4 I'm willing to try this out since Skyrim is an all timer for me. Ill buy a seriesx after SM2.

I thought DF said the performance on Series S is rock solid? I'm shocked they lied so blatantly lol

The game runs on 1080p/4k 30 fps on the console most of the time but it's not stable on some areas like New Atlantis. On the Series S quality can actually drop as below as 400p.

So we thinking settling around 85 once sites like Edge and other non handpicked game reviewers put up their score?

Its funny most Sony games have like 110+ reviews when the embargo lifts

I see a big issue which I was hoping they would fix by now...
Are all buildings and cities still new levels/instances?
Is there still no seamless entering to buildings? Skyrim and fallout4 felt so disconnected because of this.
You can't enter a city any other way because it needs a gate to take you to a fake new level. same with buildings and verything.

Fallout 4 has open areas and towns with no loading. Some buildings and cities still have loading to enter. Some others don’t.
