U ppl are talking nonsense. Concord didn't cost $400mil and Herman isn't getting fired. Herman was just appointed firing him would reflect badly kenichro and hiroki. They aren't going to give the board any reason to think they are making bad decisions. They will blame the heads of firewall but they definitely are going to blame Herman publicly. Lol u guys really need to stop sony doesn't care about u or your opinions. They will continue with gaas and continue to put games on pc and license out older ip and even core ip. That's the future just accept it.
I am not sure why a recently appointed CEO can't be fired. Also, it's not like what Herman is doing is secret and the board are a bunch of stupid clueless dogs who cannot comprehend what's happening.

Also, it's up to Sony to decide their fate and they are free to listen or not listen. They can port to PC and continue GaaS. At the end they either get more money or get fucked up. They will eventually get what they deserve wither good or bad.

It's not just Hermen.
have you seen 30th anniv reveal?
WHY IS THAT WOKE FUCKING Lady there?
I know woke when I see it. That fat bitch (And I am fat asshole too but still) screams 100% woke when you look at her.
Should've been Cerny, nishino and that's it. Nobody needed her in the reveal... or find some nice japanese chick. jesus christ.
It's a small thing but there is always a fat glasses chic in their every video where human is speaking. There is nobody else left

if Hermen Hulst continues in charge: Nintendo Switch 2 will receive tentpole PlayStation games left and right, PC will get day and date tentpole titles in the next couple of years, and they'll be released on Steam, the biggest competitor storefront from PS Store currently.
I don't like anything of those things, but you need accept none of those things is being reversed with Herman gone.

Doesn’t matter if it was 400 million the minimum of concord cost & I mean as low is 100 million. Given the game took 4-5 years & 100+ devs in Washington (isn’t cheap) + having the weekly cinematic + Amazon show + co signing & acquiring the studio which by itself can be as low as 100-200 million at the bare minim firewalk/concord costed Sony 200 million at the lowest & it all falls under Jim & Herman & hearing the rumors that this game was championed by Herman as his baby & a franchise close to “Star Wars” he needs to hang himself for even thinking that.

If there’s one franchise that could compete & match Star Wars it would be Destiny & seeing Bungie management which needs to be replace there fumbling that to. Killzone is a also another franchise that could be a great sci fi franchise Sony supports but Herman is all in on horizon & completely forgotten about Killzone

Oh I can see a LBP4, Gravity Rush remaster, Patapon remaster being day n date on Switch 2. It sounds funny & people will deflect this notion rn but when it happen people will loose there shit.

Matter a fact I wouldn’t be surprised if that Horizok online game release on Switch 2. I mean it’s been in development since 2018 & it’s been 6+ years you don’t take that long to make a simple monster hunter clone other then delaying/keeping it tuck till the switch 2 release to garner & expose Nintendo gamers to the horizon universe even more then just a lego spinoff

He puts his studio above PlayStation. That is a problem.

If Jim Ryan were still in charge he would fire Herman over this just like he fired people over Factions 2 which was another gaas failure.

He sure did but also Guerrilla played the long game and established themselves as the most important studio without Sony when it comes to Tech / Support so now they can't be ignored.

It use to be Naughty Dog and their ICE team but they pretty much lost when Kojima rejected their engine for the Decima

Sorry but I cannot agree with anyone saying this generation is trash....
Then your opinion can be discarded. Sony have:
  • Released fewer new IPs, fewer exclusives and fewer games this gen than any other gen. PS2 alone released more games than PS4+PS5 combined and PS4 had a great couple of years early on.
  • Remastered games from the PS4 to sell on the PS5 to cover up the empty line up of games.
  • launched the biggest failure in gaming history with concord.
  • released a handheld that's tethered to local WiFi
  • Abandoned the best VR headset ever made
  • Increased the price of the PS5 hardware, twice in some regions, even as costs come down.
  • The PS5pro isn't a shade on the PS4 pro in terms of graphical improvements, and an eye-watering price, one that makes the OG PS3 look cheap in comparison.
  • increased the price of PSN.
  • Released is the worst quality controller they've ever made in the DS5, rendering the impressive innovations pointless.
  • aggressively shied away from their core physical market.
  • Cancelled more games than they have released
  • Expanded into PC, leaving behind their core base, while giving benefits to PC players that console players don't have.
  • Have not released a new IP since Returnal, a game made by a former indie studio.
  • Bought Bungie and have done nothing with them. Not even re-releasing Destiny on VR
So yeah, this generation is trash for Sony. it is Playstations Xbox One generation in terms of getting everything wrong on the back of getting everything right.

This generation has been the Sony 3rd party division picking up a majority of the slack of the 1st party division especially for the last couple of years. The last 2 years Playstation has been carried by their 3rd party deals. They should promote the guy who heads the 3rd party division to head of WWS, he seems to know how to pick good games.

Here you go:

Sure, here’s a response addressing each of the points mentioned:

Your opinion seems quite harsh and overlooks some key aspects. Let’s break down each point:

  1. Fewer New IPs and Exclusives: While it’s true that the PS2 era had a massive library, the gaming industry has evolved. Developing high-quality games now takes more time and resources. Sony has still delivered critically acclaimed exclusives like “Horizon Forbidden West” and “God of War: Ragnarok.”
  2. Remastered Games: Remastering popular titles like “The Last of Us Part II” and “Ghost of Tsushima” allows new players to experience these games with enhanced graphics and performance. It’s a common industry practice, not a cover-up.
  3. Concord’s Failure: Every company has its missteps. Concord may not have met expectations, but it doesn’t define Sony’s entire generation.
  4. Handheld Tethered to WiFi: The PlayStation Portal is designed for a specific use case, catering to gamers who want to play their PS5 games remotely. It’s not meant to replace traditional handheld consoles.
  5. Abandoned VR Headset: Sony has not abandoned VR. The PS VR2 is a significant upgrade and shows their continued investment in VR technology.
  6. Price Increases: The price hikes are unfortunate, but they reflect global economic conditions and supply chain issues. Sony isn’t the only company adjusting prices.
  7. PS5 Pro Comparisons: The PS5 Pro offers substantial improvements, including better performance and graphics. Comparing it to the PS4 Pro isn’t entirely fair given the different technological contexts.
  8. PSN Price Increase: Subscription services across the board have seen price increases. Sony has also added more value to PS Plus with additional games and features.
  9. DS5 Controller: The DualSense controller has been praised for its innovative features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. While some may have had quality issues, it’s generally well-received.
  10. Physical Market: The shift towards digital is industry-wide, not just Sony. Physical media is becoming less common as digital distribution grows.
  11. Cancelled Games: Game development is complex, and cancellations happen. However, Sony has still released many successful titles this generation.
  12. PC Expansion: Expanding to PC allows more players to experience Sony’s games. It doesn’t mean they’re abandoning console players; it’s about reaching a broader audience.
  13. New IPs: “Returnal” is a recent new IP, and Sony continues to invest in new projects. The development cycle for new IPs can be long, but that doesn’t mean they’re not happening.
  14. Bungie Acquisition: Bungie continues to work on “Destiny 2” and other projects. Acquisitions often take time to show their full impact.

In summary, while there are valid criticisms, it’s important to consider the broader context and the successes Sony has achieved this generation.

I hate that 'fact-checky' reddit-style "you're right but ackshually I'll twist your words to make it sound like I'm right" style of writing and it's repulsive.
It's the linguistic equivilent of seeing a hobo covered in sores.

Funny post though.

I don’t really care about the quantity of games released, nor do I care about exclusives. I like Sonys Games, but not because they are only on PlayStation. Third parties are still great, Sony is still great imo. Games are releasing slower across the board.

Sorry but I cannot fixate on miniscule shit like you have posted, I have been gaming for well over 20 years and sure, droughts happen, on both platforms I play on, but I have honestly never had a reason for my enjoy for gaming to decrease to a point where I must micro criticize every part of a massive corp. sounds like a headache.

It’s way better on this side trust me…. And if it wasn’t I’d be correcting it.

Chatgpt.txt you like games that come to Sony but don't care about how many games are on playstation?

Name the droughts in the past 20 years. I've been gaming for 30+ so I'm happy to wait...

Micro criticise = ignore everything my platform of choice is doing.

Looks like I will join your movement after all.
I am going to say after the past months I tried to keep my composure. But it’s wasted effort regardless. Sony is taking one L‘s after another, with no end in sight!
I don’t see how they want to turn the tides, they will keep getting bodied in Japan. Unless Sony is not reallocating the PS HQ back to Japan, they will probably end up as Xbox did.
If this downward spiral continues, then I fear the PlayStation 6 will be Sony’s grave.
