I smell an Xbot alt with that "Sony too" attitude.

Sony didn't lie, they just mentioned what the console is able to output like they always do.

That is very different from Microsoft completely missing the target with wild claims and official marketing stating that Series S would target 1440p/60 and the Series X would target native 4K/60. In the end they ended up being the ones releasing multiple 30fps games.

I find it hilarious to see how MS had no fucking idea of how games would end up being this gen and it shows, it looks like they had no input at all from devs when coming up with their new gen hardware.

Sony on the other hand, out of the gate, showed up with visually impressive 60fps games including games featuring RT at 60fps. All that while MS was promoting their box with Minecraft RT (a game they never managed to release), The Medium, Halo Infinite and Scorn. :ROFLMAO:

Instead of just admitting that Xbox is run by a bunch of clowns you are here trying to somehow blame Sony for Xbox failures and shortcomings.
Yeah tht wasn't a lie thry do this every gen and we all know not to expect majority of games to even hit tht. Prince of Persia Lost Crown can hit those metrics therfore it wasn't a lie

PlayStation fanboys will also be buying PCs soon because all future PlayStation games will come to PC. Xbox and PlayStation become unnecessary platforms because PC will completely replace them.

SonyToo.

Just another Xbox fan trying to masquerade as a PC, Nintendo or Sega Fan.

Not that there is anything wrong with being an Xbox fan.

Just be honest about it rather than hiding behind another platform.

Really weird behaviour.

...why didn't it go to 75? Why didn't it go to 50? It didn't because whoever reported that they're counting Xbox Live as part of Game Pass is reporting it wrong. Sorry, it's just not right.

Xbox Live Gold membership has not gone down, it was 50M like 5 years ago. It is not smaller now.
...and he waffles on about him paying his sub even though he never uses it and, what, we're supposed to imagine tens of millions of others are doing the same?

lol.

The person who reported that 34M number was the President of xbox, Sarah Bond, during that cute Business Update Podcast, but apparently that's not going to work for Pachter.

He's mixing up online engagement metrics with sub numbers.

XBLG subs were at around 46M back around the time the xb1 launched, that's his base 50 that he believes was still good 5 years ago (yet we know that number tailed off massively as console sales/market share declined). In Pachter's world it held strong. A decade later and MAUs for the network as a whole on console were just over 50M. This is the number Pachter took as XBLG subscribers - two massively different data points, one massively dumb old analyst.

Microsoft gave an overview of its digital gaming ecosystem as of April 2022, which showed that of the 33.6 million subscriptions on its Xbox consoles, 21.9 million were for Game Pass (excluding PC), with the remaining 11.7 million being Xbox Live Gold.

The slide also shows Xbox Live had 112 million quarterly active users at the time. Of these, 51.3 million were on console, and 48.7 million of those were actively playing games.

QAU/MAU on console =/= subscribers paying for Live Gold, Michael...

Piscatella is right about the peak, but that peak came about by targeting an audience that doesn't spend as frequently on gaming as the core audience, which is to say, a new console or two every 5-7 years. It's great if you can bring them in for a while, but it's not repeatable success, and should be viewed as an anomaly and removed from trends instead of built into growth projections. Grandma isn't going to become a gamer because of the Wii phenomenon.
