Have you guys ever seen a console up close and used it? It's a pretty great piece of kit. There is a lot of value in a device tailor made to play games.
They’re extremely loud for how little they actually contribute to the industry.
Everything apparently lives or dies without steam now. I'm guessing it's the fact that Steams fanboy's happen to be the most terminally online bunch.
Well blame SIE for being a weak leader of a platform holder. Many of their recent decisions exude lack of confidence in their own console hardware, indecisiveness, reactionary panic, meekness, and corporate-driven greed.
Meanwhile Valve just lays back in the cut popping out with their Dollar Tree diaper & cape to "save the day". And Microsoft? They're too busy talking like a superhero only now realizing they've already retired.
Nintendo's out there getting business done and showing strength as usual, but don't have the need to masquerade as a savior the way Valve does.
Terminally online and in terminal decline given PC is dying as a platform. They honestly remind me of Jihadists. Vicious, hated, intolerant, inept, but organised.
Look at this xbox fanatic stanning for PC after signal boosting the Helldivers thing all weekend. You could tell he was enjoying the fiasco.

If we want Playstation to win the platform war we shouldn't be sticking our head in the sand. If PC gamers were loud and obnoxious and didn't buy games the industry would just ignore them like they did in the past. Now they complain about everything but they also buy games so everyone feels like they have to constantly coddle them and babysit them. Look what happened when EA, Activision, Bethesda and others wanted to leave Steam and use their own launchers. PC zealots didn't buy anything until almost everyone had to come crawling back to Steam. Epic tried to break Steam's monopoly and PC zealots raised a massive stink online which scared developers away from the Epic store. Everytime they win they become more bold and more aggressive.
Playstation fans have to realize that we have a lot of power too but we have to start showing it. Being the nice guys of the industry doesn't work anymore since Sony's leadership is sleeping at the wheel. Nintendo will become a bigger threat, pc is already a threat and Microsoft now that it lost the console war will throw its weight behind pc because they want Sony to lose too. We have to make Sony realize that everyone else wants to tear them down and they will let it happen if they don't wake up and focus on their core audience.
Right, so like violent Jihadists. Problem is that they really DON'T buy games. At least nowhere near to the extent that PlayStation gamers do. We've all probably seen the platform breakdowns by now in the UK and France. PC revenue is largely bland FTP horseshit with the odd GaaS thrown in.
They're just, like violent Jihadists, hard to ignore because of all the terrorism.
Helldivers 2 sold better on PC than it did on Playstation. If Sony ever decides to port a singleplayer game day one and it sells better on PC we are screwed.
"The odd GaaS thrown in." I think the only mainly(?) SP title that sold more on PC last year was Diablo 4, and only barely. Even Witcher 3 made more revenue on PS5, which is more important than copies sold for pennies.
It's not just GaaS. Even games like Resident Evil and Elden Ring sell as much or more on PC. When you see traditionally console publishers like Capcom and Sega say that pc is their biggest market it's time to worry.
We don't get many if any sales comparison between pc and console for resident evil.
But last one we did get was in the UK and playstation overwhelmingly outsold xbox and pc combined.
