How is it possible that the CMA is the only institution seeing through MS’ bullshit?

Rebellion with Questionable quality? Has Microsoft looked at their own first party games? Rebellion's double A titles are very much of good quality for what they are.

Understandable.

MS defense is out: they droped those plans and went with another one completely different that just happened to involve buying Bethesda and Activision Blizzard and removing their games from PlayStation.

The analogy is this:
- You are caught planning to off someone by running them over with your car.
- You actually go and attempt to run them over.
- Your defense is that you changed your mind and just happened to run that person over by accident later.

The green rat Judge noticed that MS is getting criticized so he locked both the threads :ROFLMAO:
He's failing to conceal his (and the site's) bias and agenda so poorly he legitimately needs an intervention. Between here and GAF it's become an increasingly discussed and visible topic, to the point I actually think this could start affecting the site's reputation. And not that I have any issue with that; I'm just amazed at how little self-control and self-awareness Judge is demonstrating (and the apparent lack of any other mod staff telling him to pump the breaks).

The thread title change is also amusing and exemplifies their agenda:

Matt Booty in email encouraging MS bosses to invest in content: “Microsoft are in a very unique position to be able to go spend Sony out of business”

Windrunner then makes an on-point post, and pays the price of a week-long ban:

This isn't a left wing forum, the way the acquisition thread has been moderated, banning anyone who speaks out against a trillion dollar company squeezing out competitors through acquisitions is proof of that. Literally the only people left posting in that thread are pro-acquisition as any dissenting voice gets immediately dogpiled by the regulars and thread banned. You even have people there sympathetic to the GOP because they will weaken regulations and the FTC.

The handling of this topic has been an abject failure by staff and a betrayal of the principles this site was founded on.

The FTC is doing even better but due to how it is in the US it's much harder for them to do anything.

EU is the one that was clearly bought. Their statements for letting the deal trough don't align with the reality of these documents.

Looks like Phil Spencer either proposed or agreed that Minecraft Dungeons should not be released on PlayStation and Switch.
EU 100% were bought.

this is just peanuts compared to what they can't publish or what was redacted.

and still, all these emails etc.. damn, that's brutal anti competitive behavior and basically clear intent to have monopoly and fuck customers.

In the article you can see that MS was considering reversing the day and date releases on Gamepass as well.

It was always an obvious mistake on their part but it's nice to have it officially confirmed.
It was never a mistake though? They wanted to apply pressure to Playstation and hoped Game Pass would have grown fast. Then have the media spread the narrative (which they tried) how anti-consumer it was to not do day and date releases.

They wanted Playstation to take the bait and follow suit since they knew it would financially kill them..

Of course Jim Ryan is a great business man and saw through it. He took a lot fk flack for saying it out loud but he was right like almost everything else, he said back then.

The mask is off. If that judge at the FTC trial don't give them the injunction she's corrupted to the core.

They are going with Sega next, in their way to monopolize the industry as we said years ago.
Oh she is corrupt... Will she step on the giant's toe and potentially stall her sons progress within sed company?

It was a mistake, it's them overplaying their hand out of desperation to get the it going and save their gaming business. It clearly didn't work and created and completely unattractive and ineffective business model.

The thing is they can't walk back from it easily and like you said Sony never fell for it.

Wow. It's crazy how passive Sony has been when you look at this stuff and how much MS were targeting them in the past few years:

- MS bought Bethesda and ABK, two of the biggest Sony partners.
- MS made deals to force Sony to release MLB not only on Xbox but into Gamepass day one.
- MS was going after Bungie and Housemarque had Sony not acquired them.
- MS went after Kojima and got a one game deal and made deals to get Death Stranding PC version on Gamepass.
- MS tried to buy Sega apparently (or was seriously considering it in the very least).
- MS has been on a multi year PR campaign to pain Sony as the bad guys and them as the good guys.
- Crazy amount of FUD when the PS5 was about to release, the likes we had never seen before.

Sony is beyond saving if they thing they can just go about this as if it was business as usual and that GaaS are going to save them.
Well guess what? That's exactly what Sony will do.... They don't have a PR or Marketing department..they are indeed very passive and have their hands tired and mouth gagged by an idiotic CEO, who was willing to sell out the brand 4 years ago... To Microsoft.

It was clearly a way to hopefully accelerate the subs to Game Pass and hope Playstation followed suit.
