Yes they can. The whole point of a PI is to stop the deal before they can close. If the PI is not granted they can close! That's why this battle is important. They can’t close the deal if the FTC already sue blocked it.

It is, they are billions yupon billions in debt. It's definitely not a dead console, come on man.
FTC will have to take it to their own court. Deicide if they want to take it to a federal court(again) and try to get MS to unwind ABK. That whole process will likely take longer then a year. FTC will be blowing through tax payers money on a case they have a low chance of winning. So it's unlikely for for them to take it any further after losing a PI.They can’t close the deal if the FTC already sue blocked it.
They aren't in debt. Xbox is simply a trojan horse for Microsoft to try and gain a major foothold in the most lucrative entertainment sector. What we are seeing now is them giving the ultimate push... The question is will they succeed. The brand itself is far from dead.It is, they are billions yupon billions in debt.
It is like walking dead, m$ keeps resurrecting them every years but it doesn't change a thing.
The faster they unplugg it, the better for the whole industry.

So my contention with your point was MS closing over the CMA.ight, why dont you tell us what you think is about to happen in your own opinion?
And for the record im against this merger, but let us hear your outcome or point me to a post of yours where you tell us how you think this ends.
When the best exclusive on the console cost $5... it's pretty dead. Yes I own one and that game. It's definitely not a dead console, come on man.
Which game? When the best exclusive on the console cost $5... it's pretty dead. Yes I own one and that game.
Doesn't even look exclusive to me.
Think of the reasons why one would have an Xbox and stick to it to this day with everything that happened over just playing on PlayStation/Switch/PC and it's easy to understand why they ended up with such an illustrious fan base.Number 1 reason why i hate the brand. If you owned a 360 and was on Live, omg. The n word random drops was on another level.
Nope. They will be fined billions, but they can make that back, even more so with ABK. But that's only if they close illegally. US government won't break them up lol. What type of fan fiction is this? US courts will already have cleared the transaction. So they don't care. UK will be Alone in their case if the ftc loses. Every country approved it. So the CMA is the odd one out. Also their are legal ways to close without the cma. MLex already reported this, and MS told the FTC they may close on the 15th, triggering the injunction.I can't believe we're having this conversation, but here's what happens if the FTC doesn't get granted a preliminary injunction and Microsoft closes over the CMA:
Microsoft does so in violation of their contract and UK law. They subject themselves to massive fines and will ultimately be broken up by the US govt. for their flagrant disregard of law all because, in the words of our newest shill "they're hell bent on ABK". 10s of billions in fines and a swift end to their business. That's what you're cheering for.
Here's what "the next battle" really means:
If the FTC loses at the hearing, the deal is still dead for rational people, because the CMA has blocked it.
If FTC wins at the hearing, the deal is extra dead.
Doesn't sound too important to me.
Microsoft is doing what they can to avoid paying 3 billion dollars, but make no mistake, they're going to be paying it to ABK in exchange for NOTHING.
Meanwhile, Sony got Bungie for 3b and didn't spend a year showing regulators and the world their ass. Who won here?
Oh, and if you want to know why they're fighting so hard to revive the deal, it's because they'll be pulling the plug on Xbox hardware without ABK. So look forward to that outcome, too, Xtots.
Finally, if your first thought is "he's wrong because why would MS be doing X or Y?", then have a good think about how the omnipotent very smart not dumb Microsoft didn't foresee the CMA blocking them.
You complain about shills but you obviously hate Xbox and shill for Sony. Bringing them up when they're entirely irrelevant here lol. So you're just a hypocrite.I can't believe we're having this conversation, but here's what happens if the FTC doesn't get granted a preliminary injunction and Microsoft closes over the CMA:
