Yeah, we were all too hasty yesterday, this is FAR from over:

(This is a shill Warren article btw)

Whilst merging parties don’t have the opportunity to put forward new remedies once a final report has been issued, they can choose to restructure a deal, which can lead to a new merger investigation. Microsoft and Activision have indicated that they are considering how the transaction might be modified, and the CMA is prepared to engage with them on this basis.

I don't think this will be "small". It indicates they won't change their stance on the proposed divestitures. So they might still be forced to sell CoD. No one knows at this point.

The CMA letting everyone know which parties came crawling back:

These discussions remain at an early stage and the nature and timing of next steps will be determined in due course. While both parties have requested a pause in Microsoft’s appeal to allow these discussions to take place, the CMA decision set out in its final report still stands."

Hopefully the ftc appeals today for shits and giggles.

Funny how bots were spewing this was CMA's doing but turns out it was MS that actually caved in and is trying to renegotiate. We should know better than believe xbots clowns.
This is far from over.

Let's hope that's it. This deal getting blocked would give time for Sony and Nintendo to make some defensive moves.

MS strategy has been exposed, let's hope other companies won't just take it and concede.

I wonder if all the news about the CMA coming to the table yesterday was Microsoft spin to make it look like the deal was inevitable but really the CMA didn’t say anything? My tinfoil hat theory is judge sided with Microsoft, so the stock could spike so people could sell.

So Microsoft realised they won't get past the CMA with how the current structure of the transaction is. CMA have made it clear no new remedies are allowed their decision stands. They didn't buckle at all.

But now MS are forced to create a modified transaction, and CMA will again assess that. How long that takes we don't know. Makes total sense why CMA asked for the appeal to be halted.

If ms are changing the transaction then CMA as the market regulator has to engage them, nothing shocking there.

this is all theatre by the CMA no way MS would agree to a pause for weeks or months if their wasn't a way forward. They would of just dealt with it at the CAT. Deal closes by the 18th.

Doesn’t matter if it’s all theater if they’re just trying to run the clock out. Microsoft might be willing to extend the deal, but it doesn’t seem like or sound like Activision wants to based off the silence but I could be wrong.

No they aren't. They could of ran the clock out without doing anything. The CAT trial was this month. If that was the case, we would be heading to the CAT.

It seems ms spoke too soon.
Looks like ms wanted a pr win yesterday on top of the ftc win, so MS went to the cma and said lets talk but before we talk we have to agree to hold off the cat appeal, the cma agreed then ms went to the media and make it seem the cma is backing off.
Today the cma is calling them out on that move. Deal is still prohibited in uk.

MS attempted the same pr blitz they did over the course of this merger, seemed the one they pulled yesterday was a success.

MS using the media to lie will never end, number one reason why i hate this company. They lie and manipulate.

Deal is just as dead as it was last week.

Why would they ran out the clock and wait for the CAT appeal if MS have signalled they are modifying the transaction?

You want the CMA and MS to go to trial on a transaction that MS is going to change? Does that make any sense?

We don't know if it's all theater and the recent news says it's not. Microsoft actually buckled up and is trying to renegotiate.
Xbots were debunked once again.

Its only changing because their is a way forward and MS and CMA already worked at a deal. CMA could of said no, we're going to the CAT. Also this news came out as soon as the FTC loss their trial. It's all planned and coordinated. This deal closes in time. It's all theatre at this point. I'm unconvinced.
