Jimbo is making an embarrassment to the brand and its fans. Really sad to see this happening. Refused and now accepting after all the regulatory measures failed make Jim and the PS brand in general really pathetic. The mocking will be here to stay for years and will be worse when Xbox releases good games. It was okay for Sony to take the initial deal, it is not okay for Sony to just take the deal again after many oppositions and law cases. Sony literally became a MS’s bitch, Jimbo needs to be sacked as fast as possible.

Which is better?

Getting cod and other abk games upto 2027

Or

Getting cod up to 2033

Keep in mind cod launches every year and the other games are maybe once a gen.
The amount of time it takes to develop games these days I wouldn't expect much to be developed between when the they're officially owned by Microsoft & end of 2027 (that's not already in development now) will be interest to see what gets cancelled that was already in development for playstation though

What did Jim do wrong?
You can read my reply again to see what I mean better. But this is just one of many reasons he needs to be kicked. The fact that Sony or Jimbo does not understand the PS brand is strong like this because it develops and focuses on hardware and the closed ecosystem of the hardware, and not because it releases some god damn games like what a typical publisher does speaks enough about why he’s leading PS the wrong way.

To you, perhaps. But the brand optics in new Crash & Spyro, Guitar Hero etc. games not coming to PlayStation, is really problematic for Sony IMHO. Considering PlayStation made those IP popular in the first place.
Besides Diablo, there's nothing else from Activision Blizzard that moves the needle and Diablo just came out so nothing for like 10 years.

The ones you name are irrelevant. Did you know Crash Rumble came out 2 weeks ago? It's a total flop, no one cares. Xbox can keep Crash. It will die faster than Halo.

Still not seeing what he did wrong? You wanted him to take the initial deal and signal to regulators merger should happen. As Playstation is happy with Microsoft gobbling up the Industry? He did what he had to. He's fumbled over some things over the years... But this situation? He literally had no say in anything other than to look out for his company's best interest which was holding out on a deal.

That's because it's a generic online multiplayer game that should've been ftp but you have to pay for

It’s bunch of horse shit to believe that Jim Ryan cares about Indie games or Japanese/Asian games. Wake up or you will have bad awakening. To your question the report of Genki is legit, Shuhei Yoshida talked about it in an interview. The source was literally inside the tweet: PlayStation blog.
All this China Hero Project/Korea are the effort of Shuhei Yoshida and Keiichiro Urata. Jim Ryan is a sore loser. He didn’t accomplish nothing. The most Anti-Gamer CEO ever.

No where does it say in the blog Sony started publishing it 7 years ago. It said Sony supported them for years in late 2022 when Jim Rayn took over early 2019.

So you dont think he cares while he alocated all these funds to support these things?

Who do you think appointed Shuhei to do such things?

This is not about wanting him to take the deal or not, read it again. He is pathetic, he denied the initial deal just to accept it again now and turn himself into a clown. He bet on the regulators and he bet wrong, pursued the blocking, failed, now begged MS to keep COD on PS5. This is just laughingly pathetic.

Jim's decision is in no way connected to the CMA. They could have signed the deal straight away and the CMA would still be where they are today. Their issues are with cloud and Sony's contract is irrelevant here.
Yep and
Playstation was not their concern anyway. Nintendo, Nvidia and random companies signed the same deal and they didn't fold.

Sony had nothing to lose by signing this deal even if it makes them look weak (but at this point whatever).

Yeah completeley right. I was trying to find details of the deal earlier to confirm if they signed console and cloud. It was only a console deal they signed.

Has zeroe bearing on the CMA decision. We are basically in the same position as yesterday with the CMA.

Ms wont be able to use this against them, as CMA doesn't give shit about console contracts.

It is with great pleasure to finally bring this title to light, and we are filled with gratitude on being able to make this announcement with PlayStation who have supported us and this project throughout these many years.
I guess he is talking about this quote
