The narrative is that Jim made a complete fool of himself. You can see all the usual suspects making these comments everywhere. They didn't even watch the trial.
The narrative existed before he even said anything, just like the narrative that Phil nailed it, that the FTC is embarrassing itself, that all the documents are meaningless, it's all too predictable.

not really. unless there was something with timeline of statements. because it is hard to know all what was said and what they speaking about.

Disappointing to say but jim did not do that great today unfortunately, it was as if he no longer cares about the deal going thru, hopefully it's because SIE got something planned to counter this merger..
On top of that calling a handheld a console, cmon Jim....... Then to make matters worse when asked about cloud he basically answered the way MS would have wanted him to by saying that its additive to the console and not separate. FFS Jim.

And on the Starfield thing, if he said it was anti competitive ... what do you think that would mean for Sony? I mean come on, think about this.
He did allude to a predatory pricing strategy on MS's part by leveraging acquired content in Game Pass vs. a competitor like Sony needing to rely on B2P sales of those same games. MS are known for having a variety of means to get Game Pass for super cheap, even technically free via MS Reward points (if you have enough).So if people want, they can get access to the same ABK games Sony would have to sell at full B2P MSRP.
It's essentially a form of predatory pricing since MS can sustain money losses of such strategy for years, even decades, given gaming revenue is peanuts for them compared to their real breadwinners. Sony has other strong divisions but PlayStation on its own is easily the largest pillar at the company financially speaking. They can't engage in the same type of loss-leading strategy on software while already taking losses (in theory) on the hardware to make up for in B2P sales revenue of software.

Not a bad showing for Jim. No haymakers but no own-goals either. I think overall it's a MS success cause Sony will never get the same shake if put on the burner but that goes with the territory.
The behavior here did not lay any future mines on Sony's potential acquisition of mid-level pubs and devs while still sticking it to MS, albeit, not in the most bloody and optimal fashion that it could have possibly been. There is a trade-off.
Media is a disgrace. While I do not like excrement I do enjoy seeing it become more obvious for others who may have been under their spell. It's a liberating experience once the masks fall. It's not like they're very well at creating the masks for those with a trained brain but for your average Joe the masks do work - which is always the point of the mask (not who can seen through them but most importantly - who can't).
