Nah my PlayStations have been really good to me. Clearly you still crying indicates you need to talk something out. It's a free space. Go ahead or keep crying.

Back on topic please guys...

If Sony bought WB games or WB in general, they would need a MASSIVE course correction.

Now, it might suit Jimbo Ryan with the direction WB have gone with their games... the lower quality grindy GAAS type over Arkham Series etc.

But I would definitely rather Arkham style single player games....

Also...shouldn't they be working on a Black Adam game?

Was also thinking a game where you play as Deathstroke could be cool.

Aren't certain genre's just more suited to GAAS model anyway?

Using NRS as an example, I wouldn't be producing fighting game seqels much anymore. Both SF and MK have shown they can drop story mode content after a game's initial release, if something is recieved badly you can somewhat react/course-correct quicker than waiting for next full blown sequel, or comics that dont even match the game's canon. Maybe the narrative backlash isn't as bad because the precedent is set that "well... the stoy's not over yet. Let's see what happens next." As one overarching MK game/online hub for the console generation, they'd be richer content wise as a sum of all their parts instead of splitting roster between games etc. You can just populate the roster to silly levels with more frequent character releases and cosmetic pieces. Its one game to hone/refine over the years and build with esports/tournaments in mind. Going a step further, I have zero issue with NRS pimping the guest fighter spots if you remove the entire idea that the roster slots are finite and they're "taking away an MK character's slot" in a GAAS model.

We'll get less fighting game sequels a console gen. But if the team are just whipping up a costume or a fighter, rather than building a sequel from ground up, we could have those developer resources go into something else, like an Injustice 3, MK Shoulin Monks 2, minimalizing the less fighting game sequels problem stated initially.

Obviously, I would prefer Microsoft to acquire WB Games and all of DC but I don't see this happening
I'm curious as to why? Given what happens to the studios MS purchase and how good the related TV material is, I think it would be better if the IPs disappeared than if MS got a hold of them.

Mind you I don't like Sony's game to TV/movie adaptations either, but their Spiderman movies are great and so are their games (along a host of other games franchises). However, they have a track record that shows us we can trust that they will do something interesting with the IPs, if they were to buy them.

Don't worry, you will be able to play the games on PC at some point either way. So we just want to edge our bets as gamers and make sure that we eventually get good or great games, not just list wars fodder.

While I will watch a DC/Marvel movie here and there, im more for the TV series and have a bunch to watch on Disney+. Same goes for Star Wars. Prefer the TV shows over the movies. But most of all, back during the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 generation, I skipped the two Batman Arkham games. Eventually only played halfway through Asylum. I did complete Knight though. Because of this, unless the game is a genre that isn't for me (ala Midnight Suns), im looking to play every DC/Marvel game not just because im actually into them now but also, don't want to make the same mistake twice.

When I say all of DC, I mean it more for gaming and to where Microsoft wouldn't have to pay for the licenses. Movies/TV shows, they could just license them out like they are now and whatever they are, they are. I mainly just care about DC for the games.

Anyway, reasons why I would prefer Microsoft is as follows -

1. Game Pass.

I know that I would get every game day one on Game Pass, they would never leave due to Microsoft owning DC and in turn, all the licenses and it's less games that I have to buy. I'm not a collector and rarely replay games so the vast majority of games for me is a one and done. Would much rather pay $10 for a monthly rental than to pay $60+ and then trade the game in.

2. Microsoft has acquired Bethesda and in a few more months, will have Activision Blizzard King.

Both are first person focused for the most part. Even Tango Gameworks seems to be going down this path. WB only does third person so this would balance it out a little more. And while I play first person games, I do prefer the third person perspective.

3. Sony has exclusives with Marvel. Microsoft should counter that with DC.

Sony has Spider Man 2018, Miles Morales, Spider Man 2, Wolverine and im expecting at least one more Marvel exclusive from Sony. Microsoft for whatever reason have stayed away from all these licensed properties mainly due to the fact that they want the actual ownership of IP's where as in this regard, they wouldn't own anything. Acquiring WB and all of DC would solve this issue, give me DC exclusives which im completely for and this also nails my top two reasons. In short, there's no negatives for me whatsoever in this scenario.

Sony likes going after licenses especially if they're popular and mainstream. Outside of Indiana Jones which as of now is neither and was done before Microsoft acquired Bethesda, they haven't gone after any and even passed on the KOTOR Remake which as of now, looks like the smarter decision but at the same time, I still wanted Microsoft to get that game and if anything, have a small development team to go to Aspyr/Saber Interactive and oversee the Remake. Obviously, this didn't happen but is what I would have preferred. On a related side note - I really hope that gameplay presentation that was shown in June to Sony and LucasGames gets leaked as I really want to see it.

4. Acquiring WB would include NetherRealm and the MK IP.

While I personally am done with fighting games and don't care if Sony gets NR and MK or not, in a general sense, Microsoft can't afford to lose MK from their platform so acquiring WB and all of DC, this would be an added bonus for Xbox and ensure that the fighting genre stays alive on the platform.

Finally, I do want to make one thing clear. If Sony were to acquire WB and all of DC, I wouldn't have any issue with that either as I would still be getting excellent exclusives that would be day one purchases for me but while most posts are usually in a general sense, I usually post for what is better for me personally because that's what I care about and in this regard, Microsoft getting WB and all of DC would simply be better for me personally.

I don't think they'd want to compete with themselves when it comes to Spiderman Vs batman. They probably also wouldn't want to piss off marvel.

100% WB gets scooped up by some European or Chinese conglomerate

Not sure I follow. The moment you pay (full price) GP for 6 months/go past the retail price, that argument about 60 vs 10 price is null and void. Owning it, you could dip in whenever you wanted, vs having to keep an active GP sub past that 6 month mark?

Its like I want Sony to throw PS1 RE2 onto the servers, but Im really looking for them to honor my ps3 digital purchase so I can play it whenever. Not keep paying them the PS+ BC Tier cost every month, even when that game isn't what im playing atm.
