praying this happens to destroy the PC gaming space
can you imagine the meltdowns these mfs would have? everything they claim is a bad about console gaming which is paying for online, $70 games and subscription services would be enforced in their asses and they won't be able to do nothing cause their digital library is locked into a single storefront that they chose to lock on to

but i did write it, i hope MS kills it, that what y'all deserve

There were too many words for that.

Also, why do PC players deserve Steam? What does Joe Gamer who uses his time on CS2 and Euro Truck Sim 2 deserve to have Steam shut down?
money speaks at the end of the day, you won't be able to stop MS from dropping billions into things, not even regulators could

Of course regulators can stop this. Valve themselves is also private, so doesn't matter how much money MS is willing to pay, Valve can say no and there is nothing MS can do.

Monopoly is a thing

16b is nothing for Steam. They control the PC Gaming Business, they are worth atleast as much as ABk

Not only that but Valve has like what... 1000 max employees at this point?
In 2016 they had only 360 employees, but I was under the impression they've grown a lot in the last few years.

Even at that new(?) inflated number of employees they're very slim compared to other larger publishers meaning their profit margins must be through the roof. They're making the kind of revenue comparable to corporations that have a headcount in the high thousands or even ten of thousands.

PC players successfully boycotted the Epic Games Store. PC players boycott, whine and screams until things go they way.
Steam users boycotted the Epic Store, that is very different from them boycotting Steam itself.

Steam would just function the same way.....

These console fanboys are delusional. Valve is not PC gaming. If valve were to shit the bed, PC gaming would reorganize around other companies/entities. In fact, less reliance on valve would be great at some point. They had a massive influence on the rebirth of PC gaming since the late 00s but they can't control the whole platform. Not even MS does.

People are overvaluing Valve.

Their revenue (incl 3rd party revenue as 100%) is estimated to be $7.5B.
$2B 1st P
$5B 3rd party
The avg commission for Steam should be ~20% which makes Valve have $3B revenue.

Profit is likely to be $1B-1.5B

Somewhere in the $20-$40B space, depending on how you see growth.
