This is kind of believable though. The pandemic hurt the PS5 when it came to sales.VGChartz always have been fake and wrong because they are just fanboy guesses, always favored Nintendo when compared to Sony.
So pretty like this time they are wrong too.
No, but that’s what you seem to want it to be…
VGChartz always have been fake and wrong because they are just fanboy guesses, always favored Nintendo when compared to Sony.

in this case it's not fake because there is official confirmation coming from Nintendo that the Switch had sold 65M units by it's fourth year, Sony is yet to confirm if PS5 has surpassed 60M unitsVGChartz always have been fake and wrong because they are just fanboy guesses, always favored Nintendo when compared to Sony.

I went to double check it and according to Sony PS5 already was at 59.3M in March.in this case it's not fake because there is official confirmation coming from Nintendo that the Switch had sold 65M units by it's fourth year, Sony is yet to confirm if PS5 has surpassed 60M units
August 2020: Nintendo Switch crossed 60M units sold (3 years in its lifetime), in the 4th year, the one the thread refers to, Switch already had 65M+ units sold, so no, not fake numbers in this case, may apply to other cases when it comes to monthly tracking, but not in this oneHilarious that people are still using vgchartz despite universal consensus that they are full of shit, but then I looked at the thread creator and understood.

The Nintendo Switch has crossed 60 million lifetime sales
The Nintendo Switch has sold over 60 million units worldwide, according to the latest figures from Nintendo.www.gamedeveloper.com
even when they announce PS5 surpassed 60M units sold, Switch is leading by 5M+ units anyway, cause the Switch surpassed 60M in August 2020, when Switch had just 3 years in the market, so it would be equivalent to November 2023 for the PS5 (3 years)We know that the PS5 was at 56 million as of April 30th.
Sony doesn't announce sales figures monthly. We'll know exactly how many PS5s have sold in less than a month when Sony reports their quarterly figures.
The solution to not knowing how many units have sold isn't to create your own data (vgchartz) but to wait for real data to do a like for like comparison.
This isn't difficult, but for some reason you feel compelled to create threads that are absolutely worthless and fairly consistently negative to Sony.
I don't think comparing the Switch and the PS5 is totally without merit, but a proper analysis always would keep in mind unit vs dollar sales for two products with considerably different prices.
You mean the same way VGcharts said xbox series x/s won that one black friday by over 800k units only for them to walk it back cuz it was the other way around LOL yeah we know and seen VGs workThis is kind of believable though. The pandemic hurt the PS5 when it came to sales.
i have official Nintendo numbers to back the affirmation made by them, PS5 is at least 5M behind the Switch in the same timeframeVGChartz will often revise their numbers based off of official updates, but you never know at any given time whether their numbers are real or based off of their guesstimations.
This is why people don't use them.
No self respecting person would cite an analysis in numbers they didn't think they could trust 100% of the time... but here you are making a thread about it.
56 million sold through consumers, VGChartz points at 58.78M sold through as of May so it's kinda realistic numbers, but of course PS5 already shipped more than 60 million consoles thoI went to double check it and according to Sony PS5 already was at 59.3M in March.
So can't be 58.78M in May as VGChartz say, as usual these numbers are fake and they are underplaying PS5 numbers.
Edit: Just saw that these 59.3M were sold in. As of then of April 2024 sold through was 56M according to Sony, so around 58M for May is possible:
Seems this time as exception they got close to reality with PS.
well, these are the only two actual console sellers we have to compareNintendo’s consoles that sell well are always much cheaper than the competition.
Wii, DS and now comparing Switch to PS5. Kinda silly comparing it
we do know Switch games sell very wellDo we know what the software attach rate is and sub numbers for each?
Tracking 7m means FA if PS5 has 50% or better attach and subs.
