I just finished the last of us 2; I enjoyed it a lot, solid 9/10
Highlights for me
-The combat is excellent,
-Masterful animations.
-Killing animations are brutal
-Some beautiful environments;
-I really liked Abby's character;
-The second half of the game really shined for me,
-Tense moments,
-Excellent boss fights
-The scale of the game was super impressive, especially some of the verticality.
-Fantastic weapons
-Great upgrade system
Lows
- A bit pretentious in places;
-The zebra scene did not cut it for me, trying too hard to hit a giraffe moment from the first game; I would have made it more personal/emotional with Abby cutting the wires, like when Ellie plays the guitar.
-The story is a bit flat in places;
-Some of Abby's reactions to her friend's dying could have been done a lot better; the sniper scene when her friend gets shot in the face, was piss poor.
-Did not like killing dogs,
-Story dragged on abit.
Technical issues
-A couple of minor glitches
-I found a room that was barricaded from the inside, had to smash a window to get in, and had a note saying the guy had moved on.
-I found some spawns of enemies that did not make sense, i.e., how did they get into the location? One particular spot where Ellie needed to jump down, like a 5-meter drop, but somehow the enemies came that way.
-Abby's animations spazzed out on the crane,
-The pregnant woman, aka "The Flash, standing at the bottom of the boat in the hangar, 10 meters below me, said, "I will be right there. I turned to the left, and she was suddenly standing right next to me."
-some terrible Ai pathing at the end of the game that ruined a scene for me,
All in all, it is nothing major, just minor floors.
