Obviously Jim Ryan is gonna exaggerate since he doesn’t want the deal to go through.

He isn’t gonna say everything is fine and it won’t affect Sony.

Reality is COD makes Sony 300 million a year in a total out of 25 billion revenue a year.

Sony on average has over 100 million plus console users.

Each COD sells 20-25 million on average on every platform combined.

Even being generous around 10 million play on Playstation.

Even if all those 10 million leave which won’t be the case, what makes you think it will affect Sony who have 100 million customers?

The PS1 and PS2 didn’t need COD to destroy the competition and even the PS3 with inferior versions of COD outsold the Xbox 360.

If anything it is Activision which will lose more since the likes of EA will simply fill the void if Sony doesn’t do it themselves.

Honestly you Xbox fanboys are something else.

Did Sony hurt you personally that you are more keen on Playstation vanishing than Xbox having something to play.

You clearly weren't joking though, you even went through the effort to find jims exact quote. You could have just said you were joking from the outset, instead of making a poor attempt at doubling down on what you said.

Gamers are generally why video games aren't taken seriously as art. Gaming is the only "art" medium that not only has an expiration date (the state of game preservation is a joke), but where people legitimately don't give a damn about historical significance/creator intent, and see older games as something that needs to be fixed or replaced.

It's also unfortunate that major corporations have such a strangle-hold on the medium.

This is mostly an outsider's perspective looking-in, I believe I only care for Division series from Ubi's stable. But feature creep, and lighting up the map with dioreha Christmas lights is a real thing. Instead of grinding this and that, or busy fetch quests, wouldn't Ubi's formula benefit from smaller/tighter story experiences?

I think there are way more indie films and creator-driven shows than video games, where the indie space is usually bound by heavy budget and technological constraints. There are some AAA auteurs like Hideo Kojima who have a tonne of creative control with larger budgets, but generally speaking, major video games are almost entirely commercialised and made for mass appeal.

I didn't say film, I said tv, the two are very different. And you shouldn't discount indie/small ganes, they are way bigger than creator-driven tv shows. most of which lean into what networks/streamers (equivalent to publishers) want, anyways.

Crossplay is really bad for ecosystems and fair playfield.

In terms of PC hacking/cheating and kb/m vs controller unfairness, sure. Is there an issue with PS vs XB cross-play that I don't know about?

Unless Sony make it own launcher and store to sell exclusives games on PC their PC strategy won’t be successful.

Others, EA and Ubisoft, have tried that already and eventually gone slinking back to Steam. Epic's storefront is a MONEY PIT, and caused the fortnite vs apple drama IMO.

I fail to see how a Sony PC Store or Launcher helps anything?
