I'm pretty sure Aaron Greenberg doesn't know how many consoles have been sold. Likely only very few people know, and why would Greenberg be among them?
The fact that so many are in their feelings about SALES, or when their system is selling more than their enemies, it's like WTF is wrong with some of these man babies?!It's just sales everyone, no need to act like children. PS5 is selling and Xbox is selling, PS5 is just selling more. End off.
Of course it isn’t getting any attention. American media is really trying to make the Series consoles happen… and they’re failing. How come this news is not getting any attention? The gaming media don't want to go against the VGchartz fake numbers? "Fastest selling since the 360"?
That kills the narrative that gamers care about "value" over everything else.
Gamepass and Series S are basically free with the purchase of 2 games and they can't give it away.
Nope. VGC and Welfare publish different types of numbers. They’re guessing 100% and taking estimates from a forum poster, Welfare.
Welfare guesses both and do it badly wrong because it just that guesses combined with wishes.Nope. VGC and Welfare publish different types of numbers.
VGC estimates sell-through numbers, Welfare estimates sold-in numbers. Their methodologies are also quite different.

Oh you got him good.Lol, suddenly Piers and Ampere Analysis became unreliable and biased? Haven't you been treating Ampere's numbers as gospel on this forum for a while now?
Receipts:
Bethesda games sell more on pc. You won’t see people rushing to buy Starfield on consoles. And when Philly boy keeps his promise of not making CoD an Xbox exclusive, I don't see how they can catch up. The Bethesda games will be huge sellers, but I doubt they'll be enough.
The takes in this thread are entertaining, to say the least. It's gonna be a very long generation for some of you
But you do have games. They’re just not good gamesThat's the thing, my backlog is getting bigger all the time. That's why his "hurr durr no games" quip makes no sense
The biggest games are Fortnite, Genshin Impact, Minecraft and Roblox. And GI is not on Xbox.Outside of titles Sony pays to keep of Xbox this doesn't seem very likely. The biggest game in the world is CoD and I'm thinking all of Sony's money won't be able to keep that title off Xbox going forward. These sales numbers will have no appreciable affect on the Xbox platform whatsoever. Sony needs to sell consoles far more than MS does so it is good they are doing well. Both platforms will be fine.
Welfare tries to calculate Xbox hardware sales based on hardware revenue but wouldn’t Xbox controllers also account for hardware revenue? I don’t know how much of a factor controllers contribute to overall hardware but it must be somewhat significant because Microsoft has a new controller almost every month. Just point out a flaw in welfare logic.Vgchartz had overtracked PS5 by over 1M. That’s with Sony providing numbers publicly. Their Xbox numbers must be out of wack completely with MS releasing no sales numbers at all. They’re guessing 100% and taking estimates from a forum poster, Welfare.
I would not trust any number they have with Xbox. Sony gives updates on PS5 sales every quarter so at least Vgchartz can correct their numbers.
Trusting them over Ampere is laughable.
VGchartz are amazing when they favour Xbox sales and when they don't, they suck.. Growup people over sales..

Never saw that and I was an active user there in PS360 age… most of time Ioi changed the data after some actual data get public.Tbh I don’t get all the hate for VGchartz from either side. Yes they get alot wrong, but theres been times they mention a number and then it gets confirmed after a couple of week. Especially during the PS3/360 era and earlier PS4/XOne times

I created several threads with actual data in a lot of countries where VGC had 360 overestimated and PS3 underestimated.
One of the times Ioi asked me where he could adjust because He couldn’t feature where he was wrong
