Yeah that's very interesting. HiFi Rush, Pentiment, and As Dusk Falls to start things off? Bigger titles to come after?

They surely won't bother with Redfall, and Forza Motorsport would be a waste of time. Starfield and Avowed later I reckon.

Edit: Actually the big exclusive must be Starfield. Forza bombed and wouldn't do anything thanks to GT7.

Wonder what the chances of them pulling back on this new initiative are since lately they seem to do things based on what their most toxic unhinged fanboys want them to do.
Keep in line with what janitor phil always do, always doing whatever his higher ups told him to, the xbotz dogs fanboy 🤣

Hard to tell if he's damage controlling or saying that the ports wouldn't be a negative.
He's saying there would be no shift in sales momentum for either consoles since. Which is expected no one is gonna switch to Nintendo and people considering buying Xbox won't care and would still buy the console since no one buys a Switch for ports of Xbox games.

Either the games don't make enough money from just Xbox alone or the studios they bought are used to having their games on everything and are pressuring MS to let them get back to that.

Uhmm not sure if we're talking about the same thing here? Lol.

But regarding what you said. I don't think Studios can pressure MS to put their games elsewhere. This is definitely coming from the top where they're seeing profit margins for the Xbox sector shrinking along with Game Pass stagnating and cannibalizing internal sales. They have nowhere else to get sales from but Nintendo & PlayStation.

Or it just turned out that MS is now one of the largest publishers in the gaming business and can't be tied to a failed console where nobody buys games.

Gamepass is what killed the Xbox or at the very least on of the main factors that contributed to it's demise.

That doesn’t make any sense. You think people stopped buying Xbox because of gamepass? It’s the only reason they keep buying Xbox, it’s the only valuable differentiator they have.

It removed all the incentive for MS to do a good job developing games, it create the illusion that gamepass would be enough to sustain that platform and move more units. It attracted to Xbox an audience that doesn't buy games and the end result is a console that sold less than the Xbox One.

Even when you look at how the One did, it did far worse in it's second half when Gamepass became the focus.

You are making the same mistake Xbox leadership did when they chose this strategy and this business model, they didn't account for the impact of gamepass on sales of all other games.

Xbox now is the poor man's console, people don't want it regardless if it's cheap, it's a non-premium brand associated with failure and low quality.

Personally if they are to include small scale titles in the talks for GoTY I think that a game like Moving Out 2 is much more fun than Hi-Fi Rush has any right to be considered.

These people don't play many indie titles, this is probably why it was considered in the first place (the platform owner's bump given on the big stage).

I mean, sure port it... why not? other than forum posters nobody will care.

For gamepass to release on PlayStation one day they'll need native ports of their games. It was always only a matter of time, Xbox just doesn't make sense for MS.
