Good. Fuck the filthy pirates and hackers
Only the lawman matters. Pretty sure the lawman is working on the downlow to catch those behind this project through IP leakage and other means of tracing - we already know discord willingly collaborates with the FBI. Until that leads to an apprehension however.... nothing has happened.

Anyone can open a discord server and discord accounts, that's nothing.

It's fascinating that these inbred sacks of trash decided that it was a good idea not only to download proprietary confidential content, but also make it a big deal that they are manipulating that content to release it on a platform where it as not released yet.

What makes it heartwarming is that they probably had their emails tied to discord, and didn't use a proper VPN at the very least.

Dum fucks will get cooked.

Once it's out it's out. It is first of all, a race against the clock, and then an attrition that def will be lost. But if they catch a few heads along the way that is enough from their POV.

This isn't opensource. None of the files are legally public. Anyone looking at this code and getting ideas without any approval from sony can be sued for plagiarism.
You will only see this code from russian devs. No one with any respect, even ms devs will look at this.

If any code derived from this via reverse engineering can be proven as such, that company is getting sued into oblivion (or just about). @SuperDuper is right in that you can't patent an idea; however you can patent a method of implementation and any other implementation that has too strong a relation to it (without legal permissions) is liable to a lawsuit.

Also any similar methods have to be "clean room" versions i.e they have to be developed without referencing the original code in any way, shape, or form. Because even if the programmer doesn't outright lift code from the source, they will instinctively write code influenced by the source after studying it long enough, which would destroy the "clean room" approach.

And thus get them sued into oblivion anyway (or just about).
