First of all it's beyond the Pale. It was originally used an an insult by British people to the people in Ireland living outside the greater Dublin area (known as the Pale). Class move there. I give zero shits about that though.

Second I've asked for a list of issues with gameplay in the many Concord threads and I rarely get a response other than the characters look ugly or the poster disappears. So...what's the problem with gameplay if it has nothing to do with the how attractive/unattractive a character is?

There is actually no gameplay problem in the game... it was praised by everybody.
Some complain about minor balances (more subjective depending which character you use). the size of the maps (that was a more constant complain) and modes with no respawn.

So the game have more complains about the mechanics and execution than gameplay.
Gameplay was really that good... better than 90% of first-person shooters in the market.

Of course ignoring the "characters are shit" lol

Concord has the worst sense of progression out of all the 5v5 hero shooters.

Abysmal design in that area. If they don't fix that, this game literally has 0 chance to stick around.

A game is a sum of its parts, gameplay being just one of many factors. Even if the gameplay were to be ideal it’s a reductive conversation in the grander scheme that’s why nobody bothers engaging with obvious gaslighting.

PSN reviews where from the Beta... not actual owners.
Steam I checked yesterday and there half recommended and half not recommended... Steam allow to buy, play and refund... I wonder if users trick the system.

Edit - Yeap seems like the Negative reviews yesterday on Steam where tricks.

87% of the reviews are positive.

Nothing is wrong with the gameplay but nothing is exciting about the gameplay either. There's nothing exciting or interesting about Concord at all. This game wont generate any buzz because Firewalk decided to prioritize the dumbest stuff in a PvP shooter (Graphics, animations, DEI characters, story, lore, full price).

PvP players aren't built like single player gamers. We don't care about any of that stuff.

I played the beta on both occasions. Gameplay was fine as it is with every other shooter, nothing over and above the basic expectations from something like this. The price tag in a field of countless free options, the aesthetic, the woke bs, the genre itself from a Sony studio all add up to a supremely unappealing product.

Sony not realising it and backing this catastrophe is the biggest disappointment.
