The standard is that Microsoft had two good showcases in the last 2 years.
Meanwhile Sony had zero. They skipped 2022 and still had an awful 2023 showcase.
They simply can't keep up anymore. And when the Activision-Blizzard deal goes through in the near future... it's over.

But I mean.... I can't tell you to not be excited for games like Fairgamedollar or Concord the sci-fi hamburger simulator made by no-name studios like Haven or Firewalk.
Such is your standard.

Microsoft is going after ZeniMax/Bethesda and Activision-Blizzard to improve.
Sony is going after Haven, Firewalk and Billy Bob's garage studio in Dumpwater Florida.

While I was very critical of the Sony thingamabob, the funny thing is that astroturfers such as yourself always rely on bullshit to justify some sort of moral win. Who the fuck cares if the showcase is better or worse? You and your buddies were praising Redfail as the second coming of Christ and the game is a steaming pile of shit. Sony E3 2018 usually considered one of their worst in the PS4 era had Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man and The Last of Us Part II and Resident Evil 2 all with gameplay.

Xbox is held to a completely different (and much lower) standard.

I'm not happy with any of these shit shows but reality is Sony still has a far more impressive line up even if you ignore all the GaaS bullshit.

I mean it looks like TLOU Online (Factions), PixelOpus and Devation Games new games were steaming piles of shit. So Sony canceled them (or soon to be canceled) and even closed studios.
The difference is that Microsoft has more famous IPs and has way more AAA studios and teams. And Activision-Blizzard is coming. Cloud/Azure is already ready.
They are just better prepared for the future.

And you can tell as they're marketing is absolute shit. The live From Playstation campaign was such a miss to me. Their games no longer feel like an event. I could feel the lack of impact with marketing when God of War: Ragnarok dropped.

I actually thought it looked like a Bethesda game on last gen.

They showed very little actual direct capture gameplay. It was a hell of a lot of cinematic angles and "in engine" footage. I really just wanted to see someone sit down and play the game for like ten minutes. That's all please? You could easily do that for a game like Horizon FW, or Zelda TotK and have it be imminently watchable.

Do you seriously think anyone could play it for ten solid minutes without the game crashing and glitching?
