Decided to clean up the backlog a bit
Playing through Momodora: Moonlit Farewell and Lost Ruins. Two metroidvania sidescrolling action platformers with anime artstyles. Lost Ruins is pretty hard, I've died more than in souls games. They're both like 6-7/10, Lost Ruins is better but not by a huge margin.

I am playing through the Stalker series that just came to consoles - some cool game elements in there, but also some crashes :( But wanted to support these worn torn devs.

Waiting on my physical PACIFIC DRIVE copy - come on April 10th!

It's so awesome I'm loving it so much more than I thought I would. The music and audio atmosphere are absolutely perfect. I wish there was a few more songs on the radio, but the selection they have is sublime. I've barely progressed in the narrative at all, the game is kind of hard but I have enjoyed every second of it so far and it's something I already kind of don't want to end.

this is probably my favourite song on the radio

Still playing Rebirth. 120+ hours into the game. Two chapters left. Excellent 9.0/10 game in my opinion, maybe a 9.5/10 depending on how the next two chapters go main scenario wise and how the ending is. Work tomorrow but off Wednesday and Thursday and im looking to wrap up the game by Thursday afternoon due to work on Friday and Saturday. If this all goes according to plan, I will then continue my JRPG game fest by starting Granblue Fantasy Relink this coming Sunday March 31st, 2024.

Just got to Nibelheim redux in Rebirth. Cosmo canyon was ginormous and took me like 20 hours to get through. This might be the biggest (non-procedurally generated) game ever made lol

I started playing The Ascent again on the steam deck I can't believe how fucking good this game is and just how beautiful it looks I can't think of another game world that looks as detailed as this game looks, everywhere in this game has amazing detail obviously the top down view makes it look a lot better than it would do close up but god damm this game is eye candy. Sony really should have got the marketing rights for this instead of Xbox, it's impact would have been so much bigger.

£1.99 on CD Keys, a bargain

Completed Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. 132 hours. Performance Mode.

Video - 10/10 (superb)
Audio - 10/10 (superb)
Gameplay/Combat - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Story/Characters - 7.0/10 (good)
Overall - 9.0/10 (excellent)

Overall, I enjoyed Rebirth for the most part. Characters were great, didn't dislike any of them but the story like with Remake loses me during the last few chapters. Superb ending boss fight even though I hate the one hit/one hit point left bullshit. The combat is excellent but couldn't give it a 10/10 because I don't like how I can't customize the HUD with damage numbers, etc. so it's a half point deduction for this category which is something I do with every game I play. The other issues were the forced stealth, way too many cinematics during the last two chapters and the wrangle chocobo sections.

The pure combat/systems is excellent. I would prefer a strong attack instead of having to switch to punisher mode which is basically what it is. Wasn't a fan of the skill trees in general. Visuals and audio are both superb. All the different maps are very varied and loved all of them. Mini-game wise, I absolutely hated Queen's Blood which is why I only completed one or two of them as Costa Del Sol, Fort Condor and Gears and Gambits. All garbage mini-games to me. The rest I either liked or loved and wanted more but as usual, the mini-games that are the focus are those that I don't like.

All the other side content was fine. I like the treasure map you get late in the game which was good side quest/activity, the towers, combat encounters, QTE shrines for the summons and the life strings were all good, enjoyable and relaxing for me. I liked the proto relics but didn't do the two that were connected to the two mini-games that I don't like. The chocobos which have different strengths based on the region was really good and fits in with the game design which was great. The side quests themselves were decent at best. But overall, an excellent game and I look forward to the third and final chapter.

My next game is Granblue Fantasy Relink which I will be starting this coming Sunday.

Beat Lost Ruins, final score 6/10

Gameplay 7/10
Story 4/10
Visuals/graphics 5/10

Pretty average all in all. Surprisingly shitty performance for how basic the graphics are but didn't notice it too much since my rig is mid+tier

Beat Momodora tonight. Final score also 6/10. Not much to say about it, some things like unskippable cutscenes/talking during boss fights were annoying.
