Agree with this. It's dangerous and why PC gaming will remain open-ended for the foreseeable future. The consoles are sort of gatekeepers now anyway because I hate that if you buy a game disk, you can't play the game without the disc. That sucks.My main beef with the GP setup (and even cloud) is that it makes these big companies potential gatekeepers of content. It's one reason the PC is so important for creativity and small devs. Anyone can push out any software they want currently. It's fine if it all co-exists, I just hope people don't get so hooked on "cheap content" (that is potentially subsidized by trillion dollar companies) that they aren't willing to spend cash supporting people who don't want to be behind those gates, or get denied etc, etc.
