Xbox needed cross play more than Sony did. They didnt have the same amount of players playing games.

I agree they did and Sony didn't wanna do it. But they made devs pay them for it in the end.
PS3 was PlayStation at it best and the lessons learned during that gen are pretty much what ensured the PS4 and PS5 success.
Demon's Souls, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Journey, Little Big Planet, Resistance, Infamous, Killzone 2, MGS4, Persona 5, so many key games that shaped Sony studios and future partners.
All this trouble just to end up doing the thing that was rumored to happen when the acquisition was first announced.

I agree. I have a fundamental disagreement with Microsoft's vision for the future where we have to pay them every month and can't buy things once and own them. Never give up ownership, otherwise you're just cattle to the corporation.
Why do you care so much that people don't like MS? There are plenty of reasons for a reasonable person to not want to support MS, if you are ignorant about them maybe do some research.

The fact that they haven't fired Phil despite him basically lying every time he opens his mouth, constant failure to deliver great first party games for almost a decade, and the cultivation of a rabid fanbase that care more about "wins" than actually having excellent games to enjoy is just proof that they are not in gaming for the sake of gaming. They are there to convert the market into a tentacle of the Microsoft revenue monster.

They are still complaining about FF16 being exclusive after buying 2 publishers, multiple studios and having there own 3rd party exclusives.
Once they realise it hasnt made a difference just like Bethesda, they will start begging for another publisher
